A few weeks ago, we went on a family getaway to the community of Santa Cruz, to spend a different day, this place is located in the municipality Bolivar, Marigüitar parish, in a rural area, which is accessed only by walking, by the river or by a very promising road, the family chose to go through the passage of the river, it is a bit complicated to be jumping and climbing huge stones, but the experience is worth it.

That day, we left very early, and at 6 o'clock we met my husband's father, brother and niece in Sucre square, from there we went to the community of Villa del Rio, which is the place where you can access the community, we started the road to Santa Cruz, the first promising test is in the first dam, you have to climb that way enduring anything, there is a lot of fear in this experience.

You have to wear comfortable clothes and shoes that allow you to have more mobility, because you have to cross rivers, rocks and very narrow roads, the whole journey takes almost two hours.

The most rewarding part of the trail is that apart from the adrenaline of jumping stones, crossing rivers, getting wet, holding on to branches to avoid falling, it is an experience to be told with all the details, the most rewarding thing is to have full contact with nature, see countless trees and animals along the way, breathe fresh air, listen to the sound of water, animals, the wind that makes synchrony with the trees.

We went well prepared, we also took enough fish, to leave Mr. Luis and Mrs. Mrs. Maria was waiting for us with peeled and tasty arepa, cold fish and we had breakfast at about 9:30 in the morning, we rested for a while and went to a pool near the house, to bathe for a while, that water was divine, I moved aside a little and put myself in the middle of a stream, with the intention of listening to the sound that makes the clash of water with the stones, for me it is relaxing, there I spent a good time, my children and the rest stayed in the pool taking a dip.

At 1 o'clock in the afternoon, we are called to eat a delicious fish soup, we enjoyed it very much, as we were only going to spend some time, the time to leave was approaching, besides the weather was raining, we began to get ready to leave, I have no pictures of the return, as we were caught by the rain as we were leaving, it was not so strong, but we had to hurry until it rained harder and the river grew, we had to go faster than we came.

Halfway, it began to rain harder, there we decided not to stop for anything, we went a little faster, we let our guard down when we saw that we were coming to the third dam, we lowered the obstacles and happy to be in the community of Villa del Rio.

We said goodbye to my husband's father, brother and niece in Plaza Sucre, from there we went to the house, we arrived soaked, we took off everything we were carrying and took a good bath.

That was all our experience of a family Sunday visiting the Santa Cruz community, I hope you liked it.

Hace algunas semanas, nos fuimos de escapada toda la familia a la comunidad de Santa Cruz, para pasar un día diferente, este lugar está ubicado en el municipio Bolívar, parroquia Marigüitar, en una zona rural, que se accede a ella solo caminando, por el río o por un camino muy prometedor, la familia optó ir por el paso del río, es un poco complicado estar saltando y trepando piedras enormes, pero la experiencia vale la pena.

Ese día, salimos muy temprano, ya a las 6 nos encontramos con el papá, hermano y sobrina de mi esposo en plaza Sucre, desde allí nos fuimos a la comunidad de Villa del Río, que es el lugar donde se puede acceder a dicha comunidad, emprendimos el camino hacia Santa Cruz, la primera prueba prometedora es en el primer dique, hay que subir ese trayecto aguantandose de lo que sea, hay mucho temor en esta experiencia.

Hay que ir con ropa cómoda y zapatos que te permitan tener mayor movilidad, ya que hay que atravesar ríos, piedras y caminos muy estrechos, todo el trayecto dura casi dos horas.

Lo gratificante del camino, es que aparte que vives la adrenalina de saltar piedra, cruzar río, mojarte , agarrarte de ramas para no caer, es una experiencia para contar con todos los pormenores, lo más gratificante es tener contacto pleno con la naturaleza, ver infinidades de árboles y animales en el camino, respirar aire puro, escuchar el sonido del agua, de los animales, del viento que hace sincronía con los árboles enormes del lugar, es sin duda maravilloso.

Fuimos bien preparados, también llevamos suficiente pescado, para dejar a el Sr. Luis y Sra. que era el lugar donde pasaríamos un rato agradable, la Sra María nos esperaba con arepa pelada bien sabrosa, frío pescado y desayunamos a eso de las 9 y 30 de la mañana, reposamos un rato y nos fuimos a una poza cerca de la casa, para bañarnos un rato, esa agua estaba divina, me aparte un poco y me puse en el medio de una corriente, con la intención de escuchar el sonido que hace el choque del agua con las piedras, para mi es relajante, allí pase un buen rato, mis hijos y el resto se quedaron en la poza dándose unos chapuzones.

A la 1 de la tarde, nos hacen el llamado a comer una rica sopa de pescado, la disfrutamos mucho, como solo íbamos a pasar un rato, la hora de irnos ya se acercaba, a parte el tiempo estaba de lluvia, comenzamos a alistarnos para irnos, no tengo fotos del regreso, ya que nos agarro la lluvia a penas íbamos saliendo, no era tan fuerte, pero debíamos apurarnos hasta que lloviera más duro y creciera el río, tuvimos que ir más rápido de lo que vinimos.

A mitad de camino, comenzó a llover más fuerte, allí si decidimos no pararnos por nada, fuimos un poco más rápido, bajamos la guardia cuando vimos que íbamos llegando al tercer dique, bajamos los obstáculos y alegres de estar en la comunidad de Villa del Río.

Nos despedimos del papá, hermano y sobrina de mi esposo en plaza Sucre, de allí nos fuimos a la casa, llegamos empapados, nos quitamos todo lo que traíamos y nos dimos un buen baño.

Esa fue toda nuestra experiencia de un domingo en familia de la visita de la comunidad de Santa Cruz, espero que le haya gustado.
