Weekend Special: The Adventurous Travel of One Place to Another of Cebu's North

I've been really planning to take another weekend ride and it would be heading to the Northern part of Cebu this time. In life, unwinding by taking a trip with someone special, freeing oneself from daily hustle and bustle, giving a break and going to the beach, or freshening by reconnecting with nature is beneficial to our health. Such activities were what I've done this Sunday. The route of extraordinary bond, discoveries, and exploration.

In my previous blog, I shared some of the amazing scenes of Siocon's pride. This time, let me start by sharing the pictures taken on our way to Bogo City, Cebu, and the fulfilling adventure that I have in the same place.

Traveling, surpassing green meadows, watching the mountains from a distance, stopping and shopping at Bogo Fair Trade, visiting the seaside, scrutinizing different marine lives, and dinner at a family friend's house - were the package of this journey.

We reached Bogo City first and we're adored by its Fair Trade that can be seen along the plaza. Its operation started from May 1- May 31, 2023, in celebration of the city's upcoming fiesta. It's always been part of the tradition where different businesses from any corner of the country will come as this will give better income for them. A lot of people will flock here which means higher income will be earned.

I was determined to check each stall and decided to randomly get in as I was planning to buy a phone case for my cellular phone. They set each item accordingly which will truly allure the customers. We were in a hurry this time, and they assisted with my request.

Visiting here needs ample time and make sure to bring extra money so you can buy the stuff you like most. I was like having a quick window shopping and promised to be back here on payday as I have a lot of things on my mind to be bought.

Public safety is its top priority, police officers are seen around to avoid criminal attacks, burglars, pickpocketers, and other bad people's intentions.

There were food stalls on the opposite side of the corner and I was thinking their foods are yummier and affordable. I told my child to approach each seller and asked for the prices but she opted to eat at the burger junction as it is cheaper compared to theirs. We can save our money 😄. Since it was snack time, we ordered footlong paired with soft drinks so we will not be hungry going to our next itinerary.

As we waited for our orders, I met my students traveling miles away using their bikes just to take a glimpse of the city's events.

Off to our next route

I was exhilarated on our next trip which is at Siocon. Even though I knew beforehand that there was no certainty of what was there. However, it was my inner instinct that there were parts of this barangay where we can savor its vibrant atmosphere and make it unforgettable.

The surrounding is pleasant and the sea breeze is fresh and soothing. I marveled at the place's serenity and it was perfect for relaxation. However, I was here to discover its amazing nature and have some fun.

As I walked forward to see everything to be observed thoroughly, it seemed that I was like in paradise. I was amazed by the aquatic species scattered at the seaside due to the low tide. The fantastic appearance of the numerous pen shells and ponderous ark lured and amazed me with how they stuck and be with their companies.

My patience was dared by this timid Fiddler crab as to how deep it was. I meekly observed the behavior of these crustaceans and I found out that with every little movement and simple sound they will hear, without any hesitations, they will crawl and hide right away. It has only one big claw that makes it unique from the others.

The shyness of this Touloulous crab is incomparable. I quietly observed it at a closer distance. I froze the moment that I have taken pictures of it so it won't hide. In about 3 minutes, I sit compassionately so I can have a perfect photoshoot with it. I was glad because it was a success. At first attempt, I failed but when I discovered the technique, it was perfect.

The cheerfulness of these Gut Weeds was lost due to the low tide. They draw courage from their strong bond of an enduring relationship as they know the seawater will be back after all. They were the coolest for me to look at.

Another amazing sea creature attracted my attention. It was lying steadily and waited quietly for the seawater to be back. This group of seaweed where some of the seashells were taking cover is surprisingly beautiful.

I have a lot of wonderful memories of this 5 hours trip and adventure. Different marine species were met which are beneficial to the locals.

I spotted children playing, families having their early dinner at the seafloor, some of the folks having a great time singing under the improvised tent, drinking liquors, and others waiting for the moon's appearance.

The small barangay became colorful when nighttime fell. A series of lights were seen on the busy street as they were celebrating its annual fiesta. Filipinos as we are, are hospitable and we are fond of preparing sumptuous and lavish lunches or dinners on this yearly occasion.

After a heavy early dinner, we have done moon gazing and took a photo opportunity of its splendid beauty. Amazingly, my child cannot resist not having a photo memory of this. She got a dramatic pose and was excited about this.
