Perhaps, this is also my #entry for the contest which initiated by aseanhive in going green. Which for now I wanted to share my homesteading activities at home featuring my vegetable seedlings which I have planted for a cause.
First a horseradish, my one of a kind vegetables which commonly found in the backyard of every house most of every Filipinoes. It considered as the most planted vegetables because anywhere and everywhere it can be found in our sorroundings.
Fortunately it was really growing and ready for planting because of localized rainfalls that drops our place. Which this is an alternative replacement for my mature or old horseradish tree in my backyard.
Apparently, this plant is life for us because a lot of uses and benefit. So that's why, how I am eager to plant this kind of leafy vegetables in the house. Like for example, if no viand on the plate and then what I did. I'll just simply get some horseradish leaves in the backyard garden. Strip off and cook it combined with a leaf scent of a lemon grass and water, then salt and seasoning and then viand solve in an instant.
And because planting was my primary hobby, so this is now my preparation of new vegetable seedlings that makes me busier on this past days or else later.
So this is how I've plant it, simple tips.
• I'd look for a place where I planted my horseradish seedlings and so that it will not be disturbed.
• I dig a hole for about 5cm in diameter X 6cm in depth using with a bolo.
• Then I filled-up with soil into the excavated hole which enough to level it on the ground.
• I'd plant already this horseradish seedling into the excavated hole and suddenly cover it with soil and compress it with a hand weight on both sides.
• Put some small stones around the planted seedling inorder not to disturbed.
• And then finish with my planting, just as simple as like that.
Another tips:
I have always used a compost soil of rotten leaves of trees and grasses inorder that the soil had a plenty of nutrients which the seedlings can get.
Other thing, I am propagating another kinds of pepper which I'd tried this green finger pepper. Which I just simply scatters these green finger pepper seeds on a damage basin and pail as planting pots. And now look at this tiny seedlings were started to grow its small leaf.
Which these particular spice plant are such really needed and very useful for our everyday consumption, and the same time it is really beneficial to our body because it has a lot of health benefits and a good source of vitamin A and C. And specifically it is very useful in some ingredients for our daily menu.
Planting is gonna be my passion, being a dirty hands of a farmer and it's blood, and my heart was really in farming. And I really want to be involves in green living thing of the sorroundings.
Anyway, I am so grateful because I was be able to showcase and share some good homesteading and gardening technique. Which others can also applied on their backyard gardening.

The soil in your garden looks very good for planting, even in the ground. Our place is pure clay, so it's really hard for us to grow anything, but bananas do very well, sweet potato also.
Thanks for visiting my post admin, sweet potatoes and bananas really survive on that kind of soil. A little bit advice admin, what if you try to plant cassava root crops. It is possible for that kind of soil.
We do have some cassava, a lot of people grow it here.
