The housefly (Musca domestica) is a fly of the suborder Cyclorrhapha. It is believed to have evolved during the Cenozoic era, possibly in the Middle East, and has spread worldwide as a commensal species with humans. It is the most common housefly found in homes. Adults are gray to black, with four dark longitudinal stripes on the thorax, a lightly hairy body, and a pair of membranous wings. Houseflies have red eyes that are further apart in slightly larger females.source
