Coprinellus sect. Domestici
Coprinellus sect. Domestici is part of the genus Coprinellus in the family Psathyrellaceae. This section includes several species of fungi often found growing on decaying wood and is known for their distinctive growth characteristics, including the "ozonium," or orange carpet often found on the substrate where they grow.
One characteristic of this section is the presence of ozonium, a web of mycelium (hyphae) that forms an orange or yellowish-brown carpet on the substrate. These fungi are usually saprophytic, meaning they obtain nutrients from decaying organic matter, particularly decaying wood. They often grow in small groups or clusters on decaying wood, especially hardwoods.

The platform allows users to upload photos or videos of plants, animals, and other organisms, which can then be identified by a community of other users. In addition, iNaturalist also has an automatic identification feature that uses computer vision to help identify species. |
