Two chairs and a gardening update
Since yesterday, I’ve had three drafts swirling around, yet I can’t seem to settle on any of them. I’m not sure if it’s one of those days when words elude me, or if I simply feel that what I have to say isn’t important… and that, undoubtedly, is a flawed thought.
How many times have you felt that way—that what you have to say doesn’t matter? But then again, this is my blog, and in my blog, everything is important (😃 a better thought arrived this Sunday, with the first light of day).
My blog is woven from anecdotes, thoughts, emotions, verses, reflections—snapshots of fleeting moments that will never be quite the same again. Yet, thanks to this Blockchain, we can preserve them in a way that is both delightful and vibrant—not only through the colours of the photographs I choose to share but also through the hues of my words.
My friend, the hummingbird—whose visits are always joyful and unexpected—allowed me to capture him yesterday, perched upon the fence.
I had placed my chair in a safe spot in the garden, ready to calmly wait for the butterflies to arrive. Camera set, mind clear… they are so beautiful and fleeting. I prepare myself and relax there in my chair.
On my smartwatch, I’ve set a five-minute timer for inhaling and exhaling… I use it several times while I wait. 😄 And, as I said, I’m in a safe spot—let me explain: it’s because of the mangoes. I have to be careful not to get one dropped on my head—or wear a helmet. 🤣 Quite the spectacle, isn’t it?
As for the mangoes… many are meeting the same fate as the ones here. I’m not sure if it’s the squirrels, the birds, the chameleons, or even the bats, but they fall from the tree just like that. There’s nothing to be done—they’re returned to the soil, to the place where I prepare compost.
Ahhh… speaking of chameleons…
Having this garden is also a wonderful vantage point for capturing countless photos—a truly therapeutic experience for me.
Yesterday, I gathered a few passion fruits that had ripened and fallen onto this roof. I managed to reach them with a broomstick. But this one… this one I couldn’t get.
And if you look closely, there are others there, ready to be picked. How will I reach them?
I plan to climb onto this chair, brace myself against the roof with my hands, and push myself up. I don’t have a ladder, and neither do my neighbours on either side. Looks like I’ll have to make one… oh yes, DIY! Another post. 🤣
It shouldn’t be too tricky to climb using the chair, right? 🤔 Though, will I have the strength after more than ten days without exercising?
We shall see.
The soursops reveal their various stages. Some are already growing, and I hope they don’t turn black. I’m not sure what happens to my soursop trees sometimes, but their fruits seem to carbonise.
It’s very strange… as if some wicked being were draining the life from them, slowly sipping away their vital juices.
If I don’t want the bananas to meet the same fate as the mangoes, I think it’s time to cut them down.
Today, I’ll have to bring down a banana plant—machete in hand. 😅 Yes, it’s quite a wild task… and I always end up drenched in sweat, just like when I have to do what you see below.

It's time for the lawn again, actually. To be honest, the hours in the day never seem enough for me.
And my garden? Well, it’s hardly groomed—it’s more like a forest. 🤣
The coconut tree never lacks fruit.
There are flowers that are ephemeral.
And others that are ever-present. 😅
These papaya plants look healthy. Though sometimes, I forget to water them.
I think these are passion fruits… sometimes I don’t even know what sprouts. I scatter seeds here and there without much thought. Honestly, I could never have a neatly organised garden like some people around here. 😂
I think it’s time to go—this has been enough for today. The part of the garden where I grow butterfly flowers needs some tidying up. There are the paper flowers, and that bougainvillaea that keeps resisting my urge to cut it back. It has so many thorns… and it always grows so fast—it’s the lioness of my patio.
I also want to give my bike a quick clean. Once I publish this post, I’ll see how much I can accomplish from all the plans I have.
Later in the afternoon, I’d love to go for a short bike ride.

I miss this.

Oh no, you posted about the garden before me. lol. I have a lot to say, but I only have two hands, and I have to tidy up the new land here.
sweet fruits are valuable treasures that many creatures fight over in the garden ehehe.
a garden that even though it is not always well-maintained, will still give you many surprises.
the price of coconuts in my country has increased rapidly, one fruit costs $1 which was originally less than $0.5
😂 You are my inspiration. I will try to get better at garden maintenance!
Prices for everything are rising steadily here too.
Lets create fairly tale garden!

Those flowers are beautiful, my dad loves them and wherever he goes he picks them and brings them home. He's also passionate about gardenias. We have two in the garden.
Well, it's good that your dad likes delicacy and beauty... thank you @yeleisma2023. 😇
I love that wild garden .... There is everything, and in a short time there will be more. The energy of spreading seeds you will see in your life reflected in other forms and crops that you will collect. Viene mucha abundancia a tu vida . Amén !!!!
Yeah... if you say abundance is coming, it's coming. I will maintain some order in this chaos... as long as I have time. Gracias ;)
I see a glorious forest full of fruit trees, flowers, and plants of all types and colours. Of course, every garden needs maintenance, but those beautiful flowers peeking out from among the green leaves, the hummingbird that comes to greet you, the butterflies that have not yet arrived and that you wait for while meditating with your camera in hand, and those fruits on the roof speak of nature and beautiful energy.
What a lot of bananas, my goodness! I love them! But let's hope they don't suffer the same fate, and I think the chair could reach the roof... well, it depends on the height of the roof. Doesn't any of the neighbours have a ladder?

Thank you so much @topcomment and @friendlymoose🤗
Awwww... you've said so many nice things to me that I'm just... a little speechless. Nah... just kidding. It's just that I got back from the bike ride just now and I'm tired. I got tired in about 12 km, the lack of training I have....
Thanks avecilla.
They don't have a ladder... I'm going to take advantage of it and do some exercises, arm strength, going up and down from the roof... hahaha...
I'll make myself a ladder, what do you think?
Sounds good to me, but you can't climb without stairs, right? Well, okay then!🤣
¿¡Cómo que no puedo sin escaleras!? 🤣
Tenés alas...?? No, sin escaleras no eh... ojo!🤣
Thank you 🤝 @ewkaw and Qurator. 😄

Good afternoon, wherever you are, @nanixxx, I love your garden, perhaps not very tidy, but full of life. The photo of the hummingbird is a marvel. After reading the comments, little I can add. Only that I like to stroll through your posts. Thank you.
A hug.
Were you worried because you didn't see me show up? Good evening, @enraizar! Well, I went cycling and I'm exhausted, but happy... I'm glad you liked the photo of the hummingbird, I love it. It was very shy there perched on the fence and when I took the photo it flew towards the paper flowers.
I'm glad you like to stroll through my posts. 😃
Thank you digo yo y abrazo. 😂
Good morning @nanixxx, here I am strolling around here again. I'm so glad you're back on a bike and that the ride went well.
Over here the week is off to a good start, I wish you a very good start to the week.
Hugs!
Good morning! I woke up early, at 6:30 am, but the time seems to be going through the holes of a sieve. I have a to-do list for today written down in my notebook. You haven't told me more about your notebook.
😜
Hugs!
Good morning!! I leave you a picture of myNotebook, for this afternoon I have annotated:
Happy day!!!
Good... enjoy it and tell us about it afterwards. I wish you a nice week too.
👋🤗 hasta luego!!!
You have such a busy and rich garden. I wish plants would mysteriously appear in mine like yours. Can you send some bananas over please 😄
But I have seen your garden and it has thrived. The crops are even wearing dresses and you really have it very organized and beautiful! Swap with me, I'll go there and you go here hahahahaha... 🤣
I'll send you bananas, by mail? 😬
Those mangoes look like apples, they're turning red.
I guess you really need to make a ladder, as you have different fruit-bearing trees aside from the climbing passion fruit vine that sooner or later might climb up higher, making it more impossible for you to hand-pick them. 😄
And those ever-present caladiums are really stunning! I think you have to put them into pots. 😊 During the COVID-19 pandemic, people in my place were dying to collect different caladiums. I didn't know why, maybe because it was a fad during that time. So I also ended up owning several varieties, including that one that you have. 🤣 It's just very pleasing to the eyes staring at the leaf color combinations of fuchsia and green. I also have those with red spots on their leaves.
Lastly, I am sending well wishes to the Soursops. I hope they won't be attacked by black mold, which is a fungal disease caused by sap-sucking insects. This has been my problem with my sour sops here, I'm trying to find ways to drive them away.
Happy gardening! 💚
Noted!
This caladium is always present because sometimes it disappears and reappears in the same place. It's a beautiful mystery. Do you think that if I took better care of it, it would come out stronger? It's been there for years.
Thanks for the good wishes for my soursops...here in the comments I see that an expert agronomist has spoken. Exactly as I thought it is a demon... because judging by the name of the sucking thing... wow! 😳 anthracnose.
I want to know which side of the world you are on. I'm in a tropical region, and these caladiums are thriving well with partial shade and a bit of morning sun, and filtered light. Their colors become brighter with enough sun but become dull when stuck indoors. I prefer them potted since I can always move them whenever they need sun or when they already had enough. This is just based on my experience with our caladiums. They are actually easy to grow, and as you said, they just come out like a mystery, because they actually have small tubers that remain alive in the ground even if they seem to vanish when the weather or any other environmental conditions become unfavorable. It's their dormant period. And when everything's favorable for them to come out, their leaves will slowly re-sprout. They're really amazing, that's why I love them! I guess maybe during winter, if you are in a four-season country, the tubers are in a rest mode underground, and when spring and summer arrive, they suddenly wake up. This is why they just seem to come out of nowhere. This plant is really fascinating! 💚
That is exactly how I see it.
yes!
I have it planted between the mango tree and the soursop tree and the light filters through there. I love that plant.
I am from Cuba.
You have anthracnose on your soursop plant. Probably due to humidity and other conditions. You should prune the branches with symptoms... and the fruit. And get a fungicide that contains copper or another active ingredient that can attack it.
You have a wonderful view accompanied by beautiful flora and fauna...
I love passion fruit... 🌹🌹🌹🌹
What an anthracnoxious demon! 🤣 (¡Qué demonio más anthracnocivo!)
Gracias por iluminarme con tu expertise. 😅 Fungicide that contains copper? Cuando vengas a la Habana pasas por acá y haces el diagnóstico completo, por favor. 😁
¡Y yo también! Me encargaré de sembrar mucho de eso para exportar. 😂
Wow is showing a lot of fresh fruits in your garden. You are working hard for the garden. Good luck to your garden.
😃 Thank you!
I like your yard, especially when you take a little time to clean it up. You have a treasure there with that variety of fruits. I'm glad you are well and back on your bike. A kiss.❤️🥰
Looking good, hard work pays off both physically and mentally Nice job
😂 Yeeeep.... I've got news for you! Yesterday I bought a helmet for an adult person. I won't be the cool hedgehog biker anymore.
LOL, I hope it is as cute, it suited you. RIP Hedgehog lol
I swear I'm not the one throwing the mangoes, but I might know some birds that might have something to do with it (penguins cof cof) 🦉
My grandfather has two ladders, one big and one small, I could ask him to lend you one and I'll fly it to you, I don't know how to fly, but I can manage 🦉
It is a beautiful green space where you can reflect, create crazy stories in your mind, talk to nature, talk to yourself and of course, a beautiful garden requires a lot of effort and dedication, but nature rewards you 🙏
Have a nice week! ❤️
😄 I already have the ladder here, thanks for bringing it with your imagination. You are a sunshine.
Sobre todo esto 🤣
Jajaja... me has hecho reír mucho. Que tengas una linda semana @elbuhito. 🤗
