The twenty seconds of a tremor

Nah, there was a 6.1 quake on the Richter scale in western Cuba: Pinar del Río, Isla de la Juventud and Havana.
I didn’t feel a thing, 😐 but honestly I had no idea what title to give this photo post.
The only thing I want to do right now is live intensely… No importa, así sean 20 segundos... 😁 for example, not leave for tomorrow what I can do today. I don’t want my days to blend together to the point of not remembering exactly what I did yesterday, or the day before.
A wise man said: It is not that we have little time, but that we lose much (*). And it’s about savouring what we have here, now. And dream big, so that greatness may come.
The butterfly may not be aware of its wings, yet it uses them with perfect efficiency… and that makes me wonder how many gifts we still have to discover, if only we observe life, our surroundings, and ourselves more closely. This could be the beginning of something truly beautiful, the great discovery that will lead us to our deepest desires.
I took these photos just three days ago at La Finquita del Arte, over in Playa Baracoa. Right after the beach clean-up we did at Playa Habana for World Environment Day, we enjoyed some very pleasant moments with Mendiola, his son, Elio, and two members of the Nativa Project.

Elio brought down a few coconuts for us to enjoy. The flesh and the water of those coconuts are simply unmatched in history. He even made me a straw to drink the water using the stem of a pumpkin plant. Wow, how brilliant 😁. That’s what I said. I had never seen a pumpkin plant used that way before.
The other two lads joined the beach clean-up a little later than I did. I have proof that I took part.
Yes, because now as you’ll see the photos I took of them, you might be wondering, and what about her? I arrived very early on my bicycle and immediately collected a few sacks of rubbish, which in no way fills me with satisfaction. There shouldn’t be any rubbish on the beach!
Every time I’ve seen meetups of Hivers from other latitudes doing this activity and barely finding anything thrown around, I can’t help but think about the lack of awareness of people here, who I believe don’t live intensely, but rather live just to live and to destroy… though I really shouldn’t be judging anyone, to be honest.
Right? 😄

Now that I’m listening to a very boisterous thrush in my backyard and looking at this photo I’ll share right now…
I remembered the thrush’s nest Elio showed me.
They even use bits of nylon in them, anything they can find.
We went to explore a trail behind La Finquita, and you can tell the rains make everything look more colourful. The grass in this area must be delicious for the cattle ;) … it kept tripping me up all the time hahaha…
She’s got a little white goat, can you see it? 😅
Wonderful moments that make you want to repeat them.
But that’s all for today. I need to hop on my bike to run an errand… this story will (surely) continue…

Whenever I travel. I'm really shocked by how much rubbish is on the beach. People in Australia I've traditionally been pretty good about taking their rubbish with them and it is usually tourists that leave s*** behind. I do think the most positive thing to do is just pick it up and try not to think about it. There's good people that value nature and everyone else are assholes.

Oh, well, I didn't know they'd changed the name either. Hahaha... I suppose I didn't feel the tremor because I'm just drifting through life. And it lasted 20 seconds – that's an eternity. 🤭
You seem to active to be drifting, though 20 seconds of unexpected shaking is a long time!
