Thursday last week saw the start of the Bicycle Festival in Havana. It was four days of many activities that took place in an old warehouse, dedicated to art, and to hosting socio-cultural events. Of course, such an event couldn't just sit in one room, so the city was the perfect setting for cyclists to show off their skills, of all kinds.
Speed, balance, enjoyment through cycle touring, talks, laboratories to make and repair these beauties that bring so much to our health in every way... it was really very motivating and inspiring.

This video has some moments from the Festival, of course. 😁 It's a pity I don't have the gift of ubiquity. That's what it is, isn't it? Being everywhere at once? I had to keep an eye on the time to get home so that it wouldn't get dark. But there were night activities too... music, dance, film screenings about bicycles and experiences with them. I missed that.

(This post is getting some edits today 13th March hahaha... nothing complicated. Just a few more notes that I missed in the face of yesterday's complications and challenges. )

But I was happy to see that this is my 100th activity on Strava. I have other joys, for example, the amount of kilometres I rode during the days of the Bicycle Festival in Havana, an event organised by the guys and girls of Citykleta, with Yasser, their soul, at the head of all that nice team.

By the way, the Strava App was completely blocked for Cuba and now we have to use VPN to access it.

I believe it is one of the most beautiful and joyful events I have ever participated in. I was there to feel the city while cycling and to share with all the bike enthusiasts gathered there. There was no need to talk so much... I'm not really a talker. I like to keep quiet and observe and feel.

I participated in two tours, one through the city with visits to art galleries and the other was a very quick trip to the Havana forest. The enchanted forest... Ask me why in the comments.

This is a view of the Russian Orthodox Church from a building propped up on the side of the street.

As soon as you entered this place there was a sign saying: Espazo libre de violencias machistas.

It is an industrial space rehabilitated with versatility, according to its Instagram profile. A place where architecture, art, design, craftsmanship, etc. coexist...

But the first gallery we visited was the one you see in the photo below.

This gallery (GALLERIA CONTINUA) is in Havana's Chinatown. Just on that block I saw a place I want to visit these days. It's an area where they sell dispensed malt and I think they practice martial arts there. It's designed like a garden with fountains. You will see it!

I had to organise all these photos... yesterday they were uploaded in such a hurry that they were very disorganised. I'm enjoying this edition. You can't imagine how much! hahaha...

I took this picture in the Vedado neighbourhood where we stopped for juices, coffee or whoever felt hungry to have a snack.

From the enchanted forest I have these which are the most outstanding. Hahaha... I couldn't use my Panasonic here. Everything was in a hurry. 😅

This guy won the Citykleta challenge on Strava. He covered more than 700 km in those 4 days!

Do you feel I'm a bit crazy? No, it's just that I'm taking advantage of the 4g to upload all this material. And it's made a total mess. Absolutely! I want to show you this fun, but I also want this memory to stay here on Hive. 📸🤷🏻😉
