I won’t lie to you ...😅
Before taking these two photos below, I had a caldosa. I know… I probably shouldn’t be eating street food, but I really enjoy that kind of broth with (only the Universe knows what parts of the pig inside) root vegetables, seasonings, and greens... I just couldn’t let it go… or maybe it couldn’t let me walk by without having it. You know what I mean?
I ate that at the entrance of a place that sells farm goods and meat, a barred space with a light roof and a little counter facing the street, a spot where people can purchase something light to eat, no long lines, just standing. I saw caldosa listed on the product board and made sure, at the very least, that the place looked clean.
And just a few metres further down the street, that contrast between hot and cold… the caldosa was boiling! I had to wait a bit before eating it so I wouldn’t burn my tongue… Just as I managed to finish it, I ran into a granizado (Slushie) cart 😄… ice, basically.
This man must have had a lot of caldosa… 🤣
I won’t lie to you. 😅 I’m just writing whatever comes to mind about what I did that day, spinning words around to show you the photos I’m bringing for this #Monomad Challenge.
Just some street photos and me, having a bit of fun. Enjoy!
Protection—that’s what I could call this photo.
Let me sneak this one in, the shot ended up blurred from camera shake, but it looks interesting… nothing like the way I saw it in my mind just seconds before taking it.
And let’s call this one ‘Top-notch quality’ (Altísima calidad)… You tell me why. Go on, figure it out. This is one of those places that used to be one thing (English Bazaar) and now it’s something else entirely.
Yes, we’re still in Havana. 😀
😍
I think he’s a catalogue salesman… maybe beds, mattresses, or even iron doors and windows. I couldn’t tell you for sure—unfortunately, no matter how much I zoom in, I just can’t read what the paper says.
Wanna go grab a cold coconut?
Look at the style of that coconut over there! 😎
And I wonder what a Technological Restaurant really is... 🤓 I’m so curious, RicarDón! If I have time after my errands tomorrow, I’ll try to swing by and check it out.
Ah, I had to tell you—after walking so much, the caldosa had completely vanished from my system…

Good pictures my dear friend!
Thank you!
These photos are such good street ones! Really beautiful. You know how to get a perfect moment. Is that you with the umbrella? And what is a caldosa? Do you have a photo of it? Why do you think it is not ok to have street food??
Have a good day!
No, I am the street photographer.😁

That caldosa really didn’t look anything like this one. It seemed to be made on a tight budget… haha.
Precisely because of what I just told you, everything’s pretty awful, and the street hygiene in Havana isn’t great… though maybe it’s just me and my quirks. I had the caldosa because it was boiling hot. And let me tell you, it wasn’t exactly a great caldosa.
wow that caldosa on the instagram link looks amazing! It looks like a perfect winter dish.
Yeah i get that.. you gotta be careful with some street places if the quality is not good.. you may feel sick after.
Tell me something, does it show up for you that I downvoted your comment? Because it seems there’s a bug on PeakD. If so, I’m sorry, that wasn’t my intention.
I just reported it.
The coconut there is the most elegant, ha ha ha, it made me laugh!
The woman with the umbrella is great, she looks like she's protecting herself. Does the English bazaar now seem to be selling lamps and bags?
Soupy... soupy... whatever it is, eat it calmly, I prefer ice and coconut, ha ha.
The blurry photograph is interesting, I think this woman wants to get out of there!
The English bazaar sells all sorts of things, 😂… mostly low-quality stuff. But, if you zoom in on the shop window, the glass says “Altísima calidad”.
🤗
Thanks! I’m glad you laughed with the coconut.
Everything is super high quality, I can see that!🤣
He's the most handsome coconut!
lovely stuff once again with the added mural of Frida K, I love her to bits
Thank you! 😊
Grindle, I think it’s just a painting of a Spanish flamenco dancer. She doesn’t have Frida Kahlo’s joined eyebrows, though there’s a bit of a resemblance…
resemblance is amazing, fooled me!!
Hahaha that dude got a caldosa overdose
Can you explain the lady with the massive umbrella, do many people use them like that over there?
This is another way to use an umbrella 😂 as a shield! I don’t know... I walked past that spot, it’s a boulevard, and she stood out in the crowd. Her umbrella was purple.
Must of been a magic umbrella and she was warding off evil spirits
Street foods are yummy even though many people say its not that safety. sometimes who cares? It's yummy and can't refused to eat street foods.
Where are you from? I know there are places where street food is really good… but speaking from personal experience, I can tell you that’s not the case here.
You made me laugh with the story about the caldosa and then the bicycle taxi, hahaha...
About the photos, pure everyday reality transformed into sublime art, bravo!
😅
Would you eat that caldosa?
Thank you!
Maybe, but I prefer them at home hahaha
That coconut has more flow than all of us put together haha 😎 I'm sure he's the boss of that coconut mafia 😂
I want to know what a technological restaurant is, keep me informed 🦉
Wowwww. great street shots. I've never tried raw coconut before, and it must be delicious, especially when it's still cold.

Hello @nanixxx, wherever you are now. There are two photos that I love: the blurry one and the one of the woman with the umbrella. They both seem to be taken from another plane.
Enjoy your afternoon. A big hug.
