Floating thoughts
I stopped at the Alameda de Paula in Old Havana after making a delivery, and since I had my camera in my backpack I wandered around for a few minutes to take some photos and share them here in the #Monomad Challenge. I had long been meaning to take these shots of the floating promenade, which — apparently — is under repair.

My gaze drifted into the distance and I felt as if I were in a playground for photographers 😅… until a message popped up on my mobile alerting me that I had another delivery at 3 p.m. and that electricity had been restored in my neighbourhood…
My response was: well… time to run. 😑
I still had to cross the entire port avenue, pass by La Coubre terminal, keep pedalling along uncomfortable and busy streets with no active traffic lights before joining the Vía Blanca and then look for the turn towards Vento. It’s a complicated route but… do you know what’s always in my head while I’m cycling there? The sheer number of curious images and unique moments I’m missing. Because Havana is like that, I always say it — very, very photogenic.

I have to head out now to make that delivery. I prepared these photos after lunch, swapping my usual siesta for some black‑and‑white editing… hahaha.
These are the views I captured of that piece of engineering designed to adjust to tides between 40 and 60 cm. The floating modules are anchored in concrete blocks, and the planks you walk on are made of a sawdust‑and‑resin composite, resistant to sun and salt air. In the images you can see that sections of the flooring are missing… but I suppose they were removed for restoration, as the sign says.

What wonderful photos, they’re brilliant, and it’s true, the city is very photogenic. I’m so glad you’ve got some new posts, and best of all, the power’s back on!!! Here’s my favourite, good night!
Thanks. 🤗
Yes, I’ve had electricity until now, but there won’t be any in the early hours of the morning.
They should turn it back on by mid-morning tomorrow.
🥺 I don’t really care… Anyway, I’m absolutely knackered and I’ll probably fall asleep in an hour or two.
Descansa!!
Gracias Vezo, qué alegría que te gusten. 🤗
Thank you 💫 @brumest and Qurator Team.
