Walk through the Bolivar Square in Cumana
Walk through the Bolivar Square in Cumana.
During the presidential period of Antonio Guzmán Blanco, the creation of squares with epic sculptures to honor our national heroes was promoted throughout Venezuela. Simón Bolívar, El Libertador, is perhaps the most repeated figure. Hence, throughout Venezuela, in every corner of the country, there is a Bolivar Square.
Although it is true that this square is used for protocol and governmental acts, it is also a place for recreation and meetings.
In this square, people meet to talk, discuss ideas, even to watch time go by. There are also many cultural events and exhibitions that can be enjoyed. Many of these activities, being outdoors, are free and open to the public.
I must also say that, unfortunately, you have to be on the lookout for people approaching. It is not recommended to go with luxury or flashy things, because you can be a victim of the underworld. I quickly took pictures with my cell phone and then put it away so as not to expose myself.
In Cumaná there are still spaces full of trees, birds and good weather. The detail is that there should be more surveillance so that people feel safe and calm. Let's remember that the best places are not the most luxurious but those where we can be happy.
Such an interesting area thanks for sharing it with us
