Yeah I don't think people are even aware that he was Georgian in the first place. And thus spent a portion of his earlier years attempting to spread the words of Lenin and Marx. All in secret too. When you see the instability of these regions you can understand how everything ended up going the way it did. For many, communism really was the solution to escaping the rule of the elites. And back then the people really were just ordinary workers already. In that era these regions (and they still are in many ways) full of the most old farms imaginable. Struggling to get by with no industrial equipment.

And instead of those people struggling on their own, they were told workers could come and help them plant and cultivate land. That they could have seeds grown and given to them from others. Factories would produce the equipment needed to farm. And those needed workers too. Being a peasant in this part of the world, that probably sounded like a great concept. :^)
