Some special drawings

Hello everyone, for those who don't know, I work with 4 and 5 year olds in a kindergarten and yesterday, as you saw, it was Beatriz's birthday and when a boy here at the kindergarten has a birthday, the children and the classroom teachers make a drawing for the birthday boy and then I'll make a little book with all the drawings 😀

They can do whatever they want, they made so many things, cakes, birthday parties with confetti, they also did some things they like to do with beatriz

Drawing is essential for child development, in addition to being a very fun activity, it is a form of communication. It is through which the child expresses his feelings, his ideas and his wishes, especially when he still cannot express himself through oral and written language.

When the child draws, he creates bridges between his imaginary world and what is real, expressing his visions of the world. Through the drawing it is possible to understand, for example, if the child is shy, if he has self-confidence and also what his interests are.

At school, drawing should not be devalued or limited. It needs to be seen as a very important resource, especially in Early Childhood Education, where it should be an ever-present activity, after all, many children draw to demonstrate what they are feeling. That's why I think it's very important for them to make the gift for them to see that it has value and whenever they finish the work I always say that it's very good 😀 It's also important for them to receive these gifts to give value to simple things

Having the drawing space as an activity is fundamental for the cognitive, emotional and social development of children, in addition to developing the sense of observation, perceiving a variety of colors, shapes and textures.

Drawings help children to develop in many ways, including:

  • Socio-emotional development Drawing allows the child to express himself, improving the control of emotions and also revealing a therapeutic function, because by stimulating artistic activities, children tend to move away from feelings of apathy and sadness, distancing themselves from anxiety and even depression .

Through drawing, the child portrays his experiences in the search for his own identity, being a way of expressing his daily life. When the child draws, he works with language, knowledge and imagination, and this helps in the formation of his subjectivity, in addition to being possible to identify how the child perceives the social and historical context in which he is inserted.

  • Motor and artistic development
While the child draws, he develops different skills. The act of controlling a pencil or crayon in a tweezers movement develops motor coordination. This happens from the age of 3, when the child moves from drawing doodles to drawings that make more sense.

Encouraging the practice of drawing for children with reduced motor skills can help them to evolve within their limitations.

In addition, in the activities with drawings, the child also develops creativity, leaving the imagination free.

How to work with drawing in the classroom
It is important that teachers value children's drawings, making drawing an articulator of their pedagogical practice. It is necessary for the teacher to be aware of child development and also of the stages of drawing evolution, so that he can understand and evaluate scribbles and scribbles correctly.

It should not impose a correct way of drawing, as this can hinder children's future skills and creative potential.

The teacher should encourage children to draw, without directing the strokes and using not only colored pencils, but also various materials such as colored sand, paper with different textures, paints and collage material.

Stimulate the children, but without forcing them to draw, taking advantage of the resource so that they assimilate the contents worked on in the classroom, such as colors and shapes.

Finally, the person in charge of the room handed the book to Beatriz for Beatriz to take home ☺️ Here in the nursery room every day we have a different person in charge, it is in alphabetical order. That's why they always know who's responsible the day after ☺️

I hope you liked it, see you soon friends ☺️
