Hello everyone, I hope you are all well 😊 I haven't been here for a long time and I already miss talking to you 😊 Today I'm here to tell you a little about the caretos of Poderense. Last weekend I went to Alfandega da Fé to spend the weekend and I was close to the village of caretos that I've heard so much about, so I decided to go there 😊

I had heard a lot about the caretos, this tradition takes place in Portugal during Carnival. The caretos are known for being mysterious and noisy characters. Their costumes are made of colorful fringes and tin or wooden masks. During Carnival they run through the streets, jump, scream and play a lot of pranks. It is a very old tradition. I saw that the people of the village live in the village with pride and that fascinates me 😊

In the village I was approached by a painting of a photo of Cristiano Ronaldo, the best player in the world. Cristiano Ronaldo is a prominent figure here in Portugal and the caretos are part of our identity here in Portugal 😊

Dad also has a connection with the Caretos. During one of the Pope's visits to Portugal, the Pope showed interest in the country's popular and cultural traditions, including the Caretos of Poderense. The Caretos have a connection with Dad that many people are unaware of. This tradition has been valued by the Vatican.

We also have a connection with the President of the Portuguese Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, with the Caretos. Marcelo visited a small village in Podense and was delighted with the tradition. He congratulated and thanked the Caretos and asked that we all preserve this culture.

There was a small shop in the village, I decided to go in. It had so many beautiful things, all of them handmade. The man was very nice, he told us that he had lived there since he was born and a few years ago he decided to open a shop with things made by him only related to the caretos of Poderense and he says he loves what he does 😊 there were so many things there, caretos costumes, caretos masks. It was great to see that the people of the village preserve this tradition 😊

At the store I bought a small magnet for €4, it's the first handmade magnet I have on the fridge and it was also the most expensive, but the price is fair 😊 it's a small symbol of the caretos, perfect to remember this wonderful day 😊

On one of the streets in Podense there was a careto mask with a mirror so people could look at themselves as if they were dressed as caretos. It was a funny experience that everyone who passed by tried and had fun with 😊

The day was incredible, very hot. I love heat 🤣 the view from the village of Podense is incredible, you can see the sea, with that heat seeing the sea you just wanted to go there to cool off 🤣 the landscape is breathtaking. The connection between land and sea made the visit even more special

All the streets of this small village had the walls of the houses all decorated with things related to the caretos. The walls give immense life to the village and it makes me happy to see that the people who live here in this village are very proud to live there 😊

No último fim de semana, fui passar o fim de semana na Alfandega da Fé e fiquei perto da vila dos caretos, de que tanto ouvi falar, então decidi ir até lá 😊

Eu já tinha ouvido falar muito dos caretos, uma tradição que acontece em Portugal durante o Carnaval. Os caretos são conhecidos por serem personagens misteriosos e barulhentos. Suas fantasias são feitas de franjas coloridas e máscaras de lata ou madeira. Durante o Carnaval, eles correm pelas ruas, pulam, gritam e pregam muitas peças. É uma tradição muito antiga. Vi que os moradores da vila vivem com orgulho e isso me fascina 😊

Na aldeia, fui abordado por uma pintura com uma foto do Cristiano Ronaldo, o melhor jogador do mundo. Cristiano Ronaldo é uma figura proeminente aqui em Portugal e os caretos fazem parte da nossa identidade portuguesa 😊

O pai também tem uma ligação com os Caretos. O pai, o líder espiritual, simboliza a ligação entre o passado e o presente, exatamente o que os Caretos representam com o seu ritual repleto de simbolismo e energia. Durante uma das visitas do Papa a Portugal, este demonstrou interesse pelas tradições populares e culturais do país, incluindo os Caretos do Poderense. Os Caretos têm uma ligação com o pai que muitas pessoas desconhecem. Esta tradição tem sido valorizada pelo Vaticano.

Também temos uma ligação com o Presidente da República Portuguesa, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, e com os Caretos. Marcelo visitou uma pequena aldeia em Podense e ficou encantado com a tradição. Parabenizou e agradeceu aos Caretos e pediu que todos nós preservássemos esta cultura.

Havia uma pequena loja na aldeia, decidi entrar. Tinha tantas coisas bonitas, todas feitas à mão. O homem era muito simpático, contou-nos que vive lá desde que nasceu e que há alguns anos decidiu abrir uma loja com artigos feitos por ele, exclusivamente relacionados com os caretos de Poderense. Diz que adora o que faz 😊 Havia tantas coisas lá, trajes de caretos, máscaras de caretos. Foi ótimo ver que as pessoas da aldeia preservam esta tradição 😊

Na loja comprei um pequeno ímã por €4, é o primeiro ímã feito à mão que tenho na geladeira e também foi o mais caro, mas o preço é justo 😊 é um pequeno símbolo dos caretos, perfeito para lembrar deste dia maravilhoso 😊

Em uma das ruas de Podense, havia uma máscara de careto com espelho para que as pessoas pudessem se olhar como se estivessem vestidas de careto. Foi uma experiência divertida que todos que passavam experimentaram e se divertiram 😊

O dia estava incrível, muito quente. Adoro calor 🤣 A vista da vila de Podense é incrível, dá para ver o mar, com aquele calor, vendo o mar, dá vontade de ir lá para me refrescar 🤣 A paisagem é de tirar o fôlego. A conexão entre a terra e o mar tornou a visita ainda mais especial.

Todas as ruas desta pequena vila tinham as paredes das casas decoradas com elementos relacionados aos caretos. As paredes dão imensa vida à vila e me deixa feliz ver que as pessoas que vivem aqui têm muito orgulho de viver lá 😊
