Monomad: Urban portraits in battles [Eng/Esp]

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

Happy Friday, dear friends in the community and lovers of black and white photography; I hope you’re all doing great. I’m sharing some photos I took at a freestyle event—as always, I tried to focus on the competitors’ expressions; I hope you enjoy these photos today.

Feliz viernes, queridos amigos de la comunidad y amantes de la fotografía en blanco y negro; espero que todos se encuentren genial. Les comparto algunas fotografías que hice en un evento de freestyle, como siempre, intentando centrarme en las expresiones de los competidores; espero que disfruten de estas fotografías el día de hoy.

Facial expressions are always very striking, especially when people find themselves in different situations. And, just like in battles, there are always moments that change: whether you’re listening to what others say, thinking about how to respond, or enjoying the event, there’s always something that can affect facial expressions, which is why it’s so interesting to capture them.

Las expresiones en los rostros siempre son muy llamativas, más cuando las personas se encuentran en distintas situaciones y, como en las batallas, siempre hay momentos que van variando: desde escuchar lo que dicen, pensar lo que vas a responder, disfrutar del evento, siempre hay algo que puede afectar a las expresiones de los rostros y por eso es interesante capturar.

As always, the most striking aspect of these kinds of events is the portraits; I aim to have the photos appear in black and white in the final result, which gives the portraits that more striking and dramatic touch that, personally, is my favorite.

Como siempre, en este tipo de eventos lo más llamativo son los retratos; intento que las fotografías se vean en blanco y negro para el resultado final, por lo cual hace que los retratos tengan ese toque más llamativo y dramático que, personalmente, es mi favorito.
