Monomad: The job of bus collector in Venezuela [Eng/Esp]

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

I don't know if this job exists in other countries, but here in Venezuela it's quite common. I'm referring to “collectors,” who are responsible for collecting money from people boarding buses, known here as “busetas,” and also telling the driver which stops to make. They keep track of the passengers' destinations.

No sé en qué otros países exista este trabajo, pero aquí en Venezuela es bastante común y me refiero a “los colectores”, quienes justamente se encargan de recolectar el dinero de las personas que van subiendo en el bus, que aquí se les conoce como “busetas”, y también son los que le dicen al chofer en qué paradas debe detenerse; va pendiente del destino de los pasajeros.

I've always thought it was quite a tiring job, because they spend many hours just standing at the door of the bus and repeating the names of the stops over and over again so that people can say where they want to get off. It must certainly be a job that is both physically and mentally exhausting.

Siempre me ha parecido un trabajo que cansa bastante, porque son muchas horas donde solo van parados en la puerta de la buseta y repitiendo una y otra vez el nombre de las paradas para que las personas digan dónde se van a quedar; sin duda debe ser un trabajo que gasta tanto física como mentalmente.

While taking some street photographs, I saw several of these workers in different buses and decided to take some photographs focusing specifically on them. If you look closely, as I mentioned before, they are all standing at the bus stop and watching for the next stops so they can tell the driver where to stop.

Mientras hacía unas fotografías callejeras, vi a varios de estos trabajadores en distintas busetas y decidí hacer algunas fotografías para enfocarme justamente en ellos y, si se fijan, como mencionaba antes, todos van en la parada y pendientes de las paradas que vienen para informar al chofer dónde detenerse.

It's something I've seen since I was very young, but I don't think I've ever stopped to think about it so much.
