Monomad: Portraits of stray cat [Eng/Esp]

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

A couple of days ago, I went to cover an event while waiting for my girlfriend to finish work. Afterwards, we went to a square near where we live, and while we were there, a little kitten approached us. She played with it for a long time, and I decided to take out my camera to take some pictures of the cat. I hope you enjoy them.

Hace un par de días fui a cubrir un evento mientras esperaba que mi novia saliera de su trabajo y al hacerlo, fuimos a una plaza cerca de donde vivimos, estando allí se nos acercó un pequeño gatito con el que ella estuvo jugando un largo rato y yo decidí sacar mi cámara para hacerle unas fotos al gato, espero que las disfruten.

These photographs were taken around 9 p.m. I don't think I had ever taken photos at this time of day before, firstly for obvious reasons of poor lighting, and secondly because I have an 18-55 mm kit lens, which is not exactly a fast lens, but I dared to increase the ISO as much as necessary to focus on the cat and the result was really good.

Estas fotografías fueron alrededor de las 9 de la noche, creo que nunca había hecho fotos a esta hora, primero por obvias razones de no contar con buena iluminación, otro motivo es que cuento con un lente kit 18 55 mm, lo cual no es un lente luminoso que digamos, pero me atreví a aumentar el ISO lo necesario para enfocar al gato y realmente fue un buen resultado.

Since the photographs were already quite dark, I thought it would be best to view them in black and white. This would add a touch of drama to the portraits and create a fairly sharp contrast, which I think worked out great.

Como las fotografías ya eran bastante oscuras, me pareció que lo mejor sería verlas en blanco y negro. Esto aportaría un poco de dramatismo a los retratos y habría un contraste bastante marcado, lo cual me parece que vino genial.

To get the cat's attention, I needed my girlfriend's help. She would wave at the cat, and it would stare at her for a couple of seconds, during which time I had to act quickly, but it was fun to do. Para centrar la atención del gato necesité ayuda de mi novia. Ella le hacía señas al gato y este se quedaba viéndola por un par de segundos donde yo tenía que actuar rápido, pero fue divertido de hacer.
