Monomad: Just another Monday [Eng/Esp]

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

Happy start to the week, dear friends in the community and lovers of black and white photography. How are you all doing today? I hope you’re doing well. Today I’m sharing some street photos with you, capturing scenes that I find striking, with everyday life taking center stage; I hope you enjoy them.

Feliz inicio de semana, queridos amigos de la comunidad y amantes de la fotografía en blanco y negro. ¿Cómo se encuentran el día de hoy? Espero que bien. Hoy les comparto algunas fotografías callejeras, sumando así unos escenarios que considero llamativos, tomando la rutina del día a día como el principal protagonista; espero que las disfruten.

From the moment you decide to go with black and white, it’s interesting to consider how contrast can affect your photos, paying particular attention to the highlights and, even more so, the shadows that come together to make the photos more appealing; that’s why, in this case, I played with those highlights to frame some of the main subjects.

Desde el primer momento que decides que el resultado final sea blanco y negro, es interesante fijarte en cómo el contraste puede afectar esas fotos, tomando en cuenta las zonas de luz y más aquellas sombras que se integran para dar más atractivo a las fotos; por eso en esta oportunidad jugué con estas zonas de luz para enmarcar a algunos protagonistas.

Obviously, since these are street photos, you have virtually no control over anything beyond choosing who will be the subject. That’s why there’s such variety in my photos, I focus on different parts of the street, because there’s always a subject waiting in whatever direction you look.

Evidentemente, al ser fotografías callejeras, no tienes el control de prácticamente nada más allá de elegir quién será el protagonista, por eso esta variedad en mis fotografías, centrándome en distintas zonas de la calle, porque siempre hay un protagonista esperando en cualquier dirección que mires.
