Monomad: In the water - with Liz [Eng/Esp]

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

Taking portraits in the water has a certain beauty to it because of the way the reflection of the water can add a certain dynamism to the photographs, and on this particular occasion I took some photos of Liz. We took advantage of a river quite close to the beach to take them. I hope you like them.

Hacer retratos en el agua tiene cierto toque de belleza por la forma en que el reflejo del agua puede añadir cierto dinamismo a las fotografías y en esta ocasión particular le hice algunas fotos a Liz. Aprovechamos un río bastante cercano a la playa para hacerlas, espero que les gusten.

It's pretty obvious that if you take photos in crowded areas, it's a bit tricky to keep people out of the shot, so I tried to get Liz to stand somewhere with fewer people around. This helps focus attention on her, which I think was the right thing to do.

Es más que obvio que si haces fotografías en zonas donde hay muchas personas es un poco complicado que en las fotografías no se vean, por eso intenté que Liz estuviera en un lugar donde menos personas hubiera y esto ayuda a centrar la atención en ella, por lo cual me parece que fue lo más acertado de hacer.

Creating strong contrasts is something that has fascinated me since I first started taking black and white photographs. The way you can give more power to a scene by taking advantage of light and shadow definitely makes it totally worthwhile, and I think the first photograph, which is one of my favorites, is the best example of this.

Generar contrastes fuertes es algo que me fascina desde el primer momento que me dediqué a hacer fotografías en blanco y negro, la manera en que puedes dar más poder a un escenario aprovechando las luces y sombras sin duda hace que valga totalmente la pena y en la primera fotografía que es de mis favoritas, creo que es el mejor ejemplo.
