Monomad: Enjoy the freestyle events [Eng/Esp]

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

Rap battle settings are very urban environments, perhaps because of the large number of people who tend to gather to watch what’s happening, since this is one of the things that has remained popular over the years, and because curiosity always ends up winning out. That’s why I’m sharing these photos with you today.

Los entornos de batallas de rap son ambientes muy urbanos, quizás por la gran cantidad de personas que suelen reunirse para presenciar lo que ocurre, ya que es una de las cosas que se siguen manteniendo vigentes con el paso de los años, además de que la curiosidad siempre termina ganando. Por eso les comparto estas fotografías el día de hoy.

At events, I always try to take portraits, but it’s quite difficult when your subjects are rushing from one place to another, caught up in the excitement of the moment; that’s why I’ve also focused on parts of the audience, who, fortunately, stay calm at certain moments and allow me to get a good shot.

Siempre en los eventos intento hacer retratos, pero es bastante complicado cuando tus protagonistas se encuentran yendo de un lugar a otro por la adrenalina del momento; por ello me he dedicado también a fijarme en parte del público, quienes, por suerte, en dados momentos se mantienen tranquilos y me permiten hacer un buen enfoque.

Likewise, I understand that movement is part of the moment; everyone enjoys what’s happening, including those who make it possible. That’s why I try to ensure that my photographs at these kinds of events genuinely capture that, and I believe that the more you practice, the more you’re able to incorporate a little bit more of that into your photographs.

De igual manera, entiendo que el movimiento es parte del momento; todos disfrutan de lo que ocurre y también quienes lo hacen posible. Por eso intento que mis fotografías en este tipo de eventos intenten capturar genuinamente eso y creo que, mientras más se practica, más se logra incorporar un poco más en las fotografías.
