Monomad: An urban, street style vibe [Eng/Esp]

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

For me personally, one of the most urban settings for photography is freestyle battles, especially when they’re competitions that bring together people from different places, which makes everything more competitive and allows you to appreciate a wider variety of participants; that’s why I’m sharing these photos with you today.

Uno de los entornos más urbanos para hacer fotografías, personalmente para mí, son las batallas de freestyle, más cuando son competencias que reúnen a personas de distintos lugares, lo cual hace que todo sea más competitivo y se aprecien más distintos tipos de protagonistas; por eso les comparto estas fotografías el día de hoy.

Taking photos of people who are constantly moving is always a challenge; that’s why you should try to get slightly ahead of the direction you think they’ll go, or, if that’s not possible, focus on the people who are standing still and take your photos there, to ensure a sharper focus and a well frozen image.

Siempre hacer fotos a personas que están en constante movimiento es un reto; por eso, uno debe intentar adelantarse un poco a la dirección que crees que irán o, en su defecto, centrarte en aquellas personas que están más quietas y ahí hacer las fotos, para intentar tener un mejor enfoque y buen congelamiento de imagen.

As I’ve been sharing these photos, the best results are undoubtedly in black and white; the images stand out much more clearly and highlight more pronounced facial expressions, so there are no distractions, you can see each subject’s face and, more importantly, those facial expressions that I believe are the most striking aspect of the portraits.

Como he venido compartiendo estas fotografías, sin duda el mejor resultado es en blanco y negro; se aprecia mucho más y da detalles de expresiones más marcadas, para que no haya nada de distracción, sino que puedas ver el rostro de cada protagonista y más esas expresiones faciales que creo que son lo más llamativo de los retratos.
