Monomad: A sunflower stretching out its petals [Eng/Esp]

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

Today I’m sharing some photos I took of a sunflower bud that I’d planned to give to my girlfriend as a gift. It was fascinating to discover, in the process, this unique way the flower was unfolding and I knew I had to capture it in photos. I hope you enjoy them.

El día de hoy les comparto algunas fotografías que hice a una flor de girasol, las cuales planteé para regalarle a mi novia, y fue fascinante descubrir en el proceso esta manera tan peculiar y que sin duda tenía que aprovechar para hacer las fotos; espero que las disfruten.

Ever since I saw the bud, I was eager to see how the petals would start to unfurl, and it happened faster than I expected and in a way that wasn’t quite symmetrical, but I suppose that’s the beauty of the spontaneity of seeing a result you’ve been waiting for so long.

Desde que vi el botón floral, estaba ansioso por ver cómo se empezarían a estirar los pétalos, y fue de una manera más rápida de lo que pensaba y de una manera no tan simétrica, pero supongo que ahí está la belleza en lo espontáneo de ver un resultado que tanto esperas.

I like the idea of these photos being in black and white, because I took them at a time when the sun was strong, and that way the sunflower definitely stood out more against that dark background; it’s a nice way to make it stand out.

Me gusta la idea de que estas fotografías estuvieran en blanco y negro, porque las hice en una hora donde el sol estaba fuerte y de esa manera el girasol sin duda destacaba más con ese entorno oscuro al fondo; es una linda manera de hacerla destacar.
