A day with an unexpected plan, but incredible activities in Guaquira [Eng/Esp]

Happy day, dear friends of the community. How are you today? I feel pretty good, and I hope you do too. I don't know if you'll agree with me, but there are plans that arise spontaneously, activities that you hadn't planned to do, but when you accept them, they turn out to be a very good experience. That's what my post today is about, a day spent once again in Guaquira, but with a completely different activity that is definitely worth sharing. I hope you enjoy the post.

Feliz día, queridos amigos de la comunidad. ¿Cómo se encuentran el día de hoy? Yo me siento bastante bien y espero que ustedes también lo estén. No sé si estarán de acuerdo conmigo, pero hay planes que surgen de una manera espontánea, actividades que no tenían planificado hacer, pero al aceptar se llevan una muy buena experiencia. De eso va mi publicación del día, un día yendo una vez más a Guaquira, pero con una actividad completamente distinta y que sin duda vale la pena compartir; espero que disfruten de la publicación.

The invitation came from my friend Mariale; she had to go and exhibit her artwork in case anyone was interested in buying it. In Guaquira there was a very appealing activity: they would do a complete tour of the facilities, of certain tourist spots before arriving in Guaquira, a chocolate tasting, a dramatization by a Spanish actor, and other activities. But despite this wide range of activities, the point is that it was aimed at people with visual impairments. Yes, it was a different kind of activity for this group of people to enjoy a different kind of day where they could activate their other senses: smell, taste, touch, and hearing.

I was just accompanying my friend, so I was able to take part in part of the tour and several of the activities, taking some photos with both my camera and my phone. I don't think I had ever been so aware of what it's like to explain things to someone who can't see everything around them, but the people in charge of this were undoubtedly very well prepared. They knew how to describe things, integrate each person, manage a large group of people (who were accompanied by their families), and plan the activities in the best possible way.

La invitación vino de parte de mi amiga Mariale; ella tenía que ir a exhibir sus obras de arte por si alguien estaba interesado en comprarlas. En Guaquira había una actividad muy llamativa, harían un tour completo de las instalaciones, de ciertos espacios turísticos antes de llegar a Guaquira, una degustación de chocolates, una dramatización de un actor español y otras actividades más, pero, a pesar de esta gran cantidad de actividades, la cuestión es que iba dirigido a personas con discapacidad visual, sí, era una actividad distinta para que este grupo de personas disfrutara de un día distinto donde activarían sus otros sentidos, el olfato, el gusto, el tacto y el oído.

Yo solo iba como acompañante de mi amiga, por lo que pude estar en parte del tour y en varias de las actividades haciendo algunas fotografías, tanto con mi cámara como con mi teléfono. Creo que nunca había sido tan consciente de cómo es explicarle a alguna persona que no ve todo aquello que le rodea, pero sin duda, los encargados de ello eran personas muy preparadas. Supieron describir las cosas, integrar a cada persona, saber llevar a un grupo grande de personas (quienes iban acompañados de sus familiares) y planificar las actividades de la mejor forma.

As I mentioned, the tour took us through different areas, some focused on art, others on places that are very characteristic of the area where they sold ice cream, which they gave away for people to try. Then came the dramatization; here, the Spanish actor immersed us in an interesting story, describing everything that happened so that you could imagine it perfectly. He even described sensations, something that had rarely crossed my mind, but which I certainly liked a lot: making comparisons with everyday things so that a person can connect perfectly.

There was a break, I was walking around some places, then a chocolate tasting began with different varieties, and you'll have to forgive me, I'm not a chocolate lover, but my friend is, so whatever they gave me, I ended up giving to her. There was only one chocolate bar that I liked because it reminded me of another one I used to eat as a child, but the rest went to my friend. The funny thing is that neither of us liked a type of liquid dark chocolate they gave us, but we certainly appreciated the attention of those who made everything possible.

Como bien mencioné, el tour nos llevó por distintas zonas, algunos centrados en el arte, otros en lugares muy característicos de la zona donde vendían helados, los cuales regalaron para que las personas los probaran. Luego vino la dramatización; aquí el actor español nos sumergió en una historia interesante, describía cada cosa que sucedía, por lo que podías imaginarlo perfectamente, incluso describía sensaciones, algo que pocas veces me había pasado por la mente, pero que sin duda es algo que me gustó bastante, el hacer comparaciones con las cosas cotidianas para que una persona pueda conectar perfectamente.

Hubo un receso, yo estuve caminando por algunos lugares, luego empezó una degustación de chocolate en sus distintas variedades y me tendrán que perdonar, yo no soy amante del chocolate, pero mi amiga sí, por lo que cualquier cosa que me daban, se lo terminé dando a ella, hubo solo una tableta de chocolate que sí me gustó, porque me recordaba a otro que comía de pequeño, pero de resto, todo iba para mi amiga, lo gracioso es que, un tipo de chocolate amargo liquido que nos dieron, no le gustó a ninguno de los dos, pero sin duda agradecimos la atención de quienes hicieron todo posible.
