A day at the fair: birds, art, and food [Eng/Esp]
Greetings, dear friends of the community, I hope you are all having a wonderful day. For some time now, I have been trying to take advantage of any excuse to go out when I have free time. Besides, any time is a good time to take pictures, and my friend Mariale invited me to accompany her to an event at a bird, art, and food fair that she had to attend. Of course, I said yes to any opportunity, so I decided to go with her, and that is what I want to talk to you about today. So, join me.
Our day started quite early, as the venue was quite far from where we live, so we traveled with Mariale's family, who dropped us off at the site. The funny thing was that the event started at 9 a.m., and we were already there at 7:50 a.m., so we still had to wait an hour or so, but luckily, we were able to go in and see the place while they were setting everything up.
Saludos, queridos amigos de la comunidad, espero que todos estén teniendo un excelente día. Desde hace un tiempo estoy intentando aprovechar cualquier excusa para salir cuando tengo tiempo libre, además, cualquier momento es bueno para hacer fotografías y mi amiga Mariale me invitó a acompañarla a un evento de una feria de aves, arte y gastronomía al cual tenía que asistir y yo evidentemente diciendo sí a cualquier oportunidad decidí acompañarla y es de lo que quiero hablarles el día de hoy, así que, acompáñenme.
Nuestro día empezó bastante temprano, ya que el lugar del evento está bastante lejos de donde vivimos, así que tuvimos un viaje con la familia de Mariale que nos dejarían en el sitio. Lo gracioso del asunto, el evento empezaba a las 9 de la mañana y nosotros ya estábamos en el lugar a las 7:50, por lo que todavía teníamos que esperar una hora y algo, pero por suerte, pudimos entrar y ver el lugar mientras estaban acomodando todo.
There are people who really enjoy their work, you can tell by the joy and intensity with which they do it, and those who work here truly love what they do, because from the beginning they treated us very well, told us about the place, asked us where we were from and if we were comfortable, and it was certainly a very nice gesture on their part. Mariale and I walked around the place a bit, which was full of art all around.
When it was time to start, we sat down, were offered coffee, and the talk began. The people present were the experts, and they talked about their experience birdwatching, what it meant to them, certain things they enjoyed about it, and some of the moments that had made the biggest impression on them. The talk began with some predetermined questions, but as it progressed, those of us listening began to ask questions. There was a little girl who asked some questions about bird poaching, and this made the conversation even more interesting.
Hay personas que realmente disfrutan su trabajo, se les nota con la alegría e intensidad con la que lo hacen y quienes trabajan aquí realmente aman lo que hacen, porque desde un principio nos trataron muy bien, nos hablaban del sitio, nos preguntaron de dónde veníamos y su estábamos cómodos y sin duda fue una muy bonita acción de su parte. Mariale y yo estuvimos recorriendo un poco el lugar, el cual estaba lleno de mucho arte a su alrededor.
Cuando se acercó la hora de iniciar, nos sentamos, nos ofrecieron café y así empezó la charla. Las personas presentes eran los expertos, hablaron sobre su experiencia al observar aves, lo que para ellos significaba, ciertas cosas que disfrutaran de ello y alguno de los momentos que más les han marcado. La charla empezó con unas preguntas predeterminadas, pero mientras más avanzaba la charla, quienes estábamos escuchando empezamos a hacer preguntas. Hubo una niña pequeña que hizo unas preguntas sobre la caza furtiva de las aves y esto hizo que la conversación fuese más llamativa.
The talk lasted about two hours, and although we all wanted more, we had to move on to the other activities, which were art and gastronomy. At this point, we had to decide what we wanted to do. On the one hand, there was an art contest where participants could paint any bird they wanted, and on the other hand, there were free chocolate samples being handed out. Mariale and I focused more on the art, although neither of us participated in drawing or painting. We watched the participants, who were undoubtedly doing some incredible things.
We decided to explore a little more, since there was more freedom, and we stopped to look at the excellent murals that many artists had created together. Painting is undoubtedly the most striking art form, at least for me, because it allows you to let your imagination run wild and create incredible visual art. They were selling ice cream, so we decided to try some, and it was very good.
La charla duró unas dos horas y aunque todos nos quedamos con ganas de más, había que seguir con las demás actividades, las cuales eran arte y gastronomía, en este punto uno decidía lo que quería hacer, por un lado, había un concurso de arte, los participantes podían pintar cualquier ave que quisieran y por el otro lado, la gastronomía eran unas muestras gratis de chocolates que realizaban allí. Mariale y yo nos enfocamos más en el arte, aunque ninguno de los dos participó en dibujar ni pintar. Estuvimos viendo a los participantes, quienes sin duda estaban haciendo unas cosas increíbles.
Nos dedicamos a explorar un poco más, ya que había más libertad y nos detuvimos a ver los excelentes murales que muchos artistas habían hecho en conjunto, sin duda la pintura es la forma de arte más llamativa, al menos para mí, porque te permite soltar tu imaginación y crear cosas de arte visual increíble y como vendían unos helados decimos probarlos y estaban muy buenos.
And so, after about seven hours at these fairs, we had to leave. Luckily, there was a bus that would take us back and drop us off at a place where we could move around more freely to return to our homes. Without a doubt, it was an incredible experience full of many interesting activities, as well as getting to know a new place that will undoubtedly become one of my favorites.
Y así, luego de unas 7 horas en estas ferias, teníamos que irnos. Por suerte había un autobús que nos llevaría de regreso y nos dejaría en un lugar donde ya podíamos movernos con más libertad para regresar a nuestras casas. Sin duda, fue una experiencia increíble y llena de muchas actividades muy interesantes, además de conocer un nuevo lugar que sin duda se volverá de mis favoritos.

Going to such fairs is not only a medium of entertainment but also a medium of education. You shared it so beautifully that I could imagine the whole place.
That's a great opportunity. Attending that kinds of events help us to socialize with other people, know their stories, gain more information and we can also relax.
