Fungifriday: Schizophyllum Commune

IMG_20250518_125446_1.jpg

In the middle of the scorching sun between the dry season and the pouring rain, there was a gap under the leaves growing a group of Schizophyllum commune mushrooms. I had to travel 12 kilometers. For a trip that far from home, sometimes it becomes a gamble between successfully finding a group of mushrooms or going home in despair.

The Schizophyllum commune mushroom finally became the fruit of victory. Whatever type of mushroom I found, I should be grateful because in the midst of the hot day there was still a group of mushrooms growing among the dense leaves of the trees. The Schizophyllum commune mushroom with its obvious leaf fibers plus its milky white color makes this mushroom so identical with its own characteristics.
