Fungifriday: Crepidotus and Marasmielus
Crepidotus grows in rural areas with stable climates. Some forests in Sumatra are known for their rainy season or seasons with less extreme humidity. These mushrooms are commonly found in this area, although they don't always match in size. Some of these mushrooms have been identified as oyster mushrooms, but I believe this one is Crepidotus.
Next, there's a sheet of Marasmielus, a wavy mushroom. This mushroom is characteristically milky white in color, with wide, wavy leaves. Marasmielus typically grows on dry branches in cool temperatures, away from direct sunlight. The sunlight blocked by the shady leaves of the trees creates a cool atmosphere on the ground, and the resulting rainfall creates a cool environment that is ideal for Marasmielus growth.
