At one of the city malls the Iran Handicraft Exhibition has been put up. I was curious to see what all things are there in the exhibition, so over the weekend made a quick trip to the mall. It was not a total disappointment but it was nothing great also. It was a very small exhibition with very limited handicrafts at display and most of the items I did not find very amusing or unique. I have visited Iran and I have seen they have some very beautiful local stuff. I was expecting some Crystals, they also have a lot of silver things but nothing of that sort was there in the exhibition. All the things were handmade and more of local use. Of course, the name is handicraft so it had to be that way. But hand made things are also attractive, whereas here I did not see much of color and found it very dull.

A lot of pottery items were on display, price wise they were ok, else normally I see that these items are very expensively priced. But honestly nothing really did appeal me much to buy. The things that were at display we also get most of them in our local market. I could not really find the Iranian touch in any of it. In India also these kinds of things are made so it was not fascinating at all.

These pot designs were the ones that I found a little unique, but then they looked dull to me and I like a colors and glitter, not my type. The designs on top of the mugs were also sober.

Almost everything was brown color, when it comes to certain things, I am not much in favor of it, so it did not attract me much. One reason also being that most of the furniture in my home is also brown and if I buy the decor items and things to use items also brown then it will look very dull and will not stand out, it will all look the same.

These colorful bottles and jars were attractive, but then I was thinking what actually would I used them for. Could not really think of anything so gave this too a pass.

These hand-woven baskets are nice to keep small things, but again too simple for me. They could have had them in some colors or some designs on it.

The colors were not attracting me much, but the art work on the items were really nice and to be appreciated. Some of them were very fine designs but they did not look very attractive. I had not gone with much expectation so that was one good thing, else I would have had a big disappointment of not getting anything. It was more of a curiosity to see what was there. Eventually it turned out to be a nice evening stroll for me and a good weekend break.
