Trying out Blue Tea

I like to keep trying out different flavors of herbal tea. Couple of months back a friend gifted me a plant of blue tea, in her garden it was growing out very well and I had liked it, but then after planting it in my garden for 1 month there was nothing. She had told me it would start growing in 15 days time. I was getting impatient because even after a month there were no flowers. Finally after almost month and a half flowers started coming and since then it's been blooming. Though there are not many flowers still.

Yesterday for the first time I made tea of the blue flowers. In pictures I had seen the color of this tea completely blue, but it did not give that much blue color, probably the flowers I put were less. The flavor was nice, it had a very earthy flavor, like how you get when you cook food in earther pots. I did not get that exact color also probably because of the other spices that I had put in it. like the cloves, cardamom, pepper and basil leaves, which had picked up a strong yellow color. So the blue getting mixed up in yellow gave a mild green color, which was the case.

That's the end result of it

That's the flower. it is also commonly known as the butterfly pea flower.

It was the first time trying out so I put only 2 flowers along with other spices.

The blue tea has some good health benefits, it's rich in antioxidants and protects the body from oxidative stress. Good for skin health, brain health, digestive system and many such health benefits. For me, I enjoy trying out different herbs and this one is good. I am going to have it more often.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
