Travel Diaries - #Throwbacks - A Day at Ocean Park in Hong Kong
This was some time ago. We wanted to plan for a low budget holiday and in that time, Hong Kong was a good destination that we could think of. It was a week long holiday. One of my aunts lives there so she had given us all the tips to make an enjoyable and a budget friendly trip. It's a place full of sky scrapers. Wherever you go you will find tall rises which will stretch your neck high, just like Dubai. Hong Kong has couple of theme parks like the Disneyland, Snoopy's world and the Ocean Park.
One day we had dedicated to visit the Ocean park. Hubby is a fan of marine life so this was not to be missed. In the Ocean park the best that I enjoyed was the Pacific Pier where I could see the Sea Lions. They are often called as the Angels of the Sea for the way they flap and swim around. In the park you could also hug them and pat them, but yes if they would swash around then they will drench you completely. I found them very playful and they were quite a delight to watch. We spent good enough time here before moving to the next part.
I was enjoying watching them play
There, they jump into the water
Quite a few of them were there, they were basking in the morning sun in a very playful mood
I did not pat the real one, but just for pose :-)
Colorful and bright
It's a very nice park not only for children but all age group will enjoy and so much to do also like different rides. I do not enjoy the high rides, I kept myself away from it, but hubby and son did go for it. This holiday is a good memory for all of us. We always think of these times, when we did a lot of budget holidays and yet we enjoyed so much. We would cut down on our hotel expenses, find economical modes of transport, not do much of shopping and keep our cost low as much as possible. Our intention would be to enjoy the place rather than spending on luxuries. Life has changed a lot from those times, yet, we still follow some of these rules, like none of us are shopping people and we barely buy anything except for a few souvenirs to keep them as memories.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

Angel of the sea? I haven't seen them in person yet. Ocean park? I always hear about it and many is saying it is really fun to be there. Hopefully one day we can have fun there too.
It was a fun day. They are not seen very commonly so surely it was a fascination for me as well
I wish I could see a real sea lion, glad you enjoy with your family.
Thank you
I have never ever seen see lions in real. This is surprising for me. Hopefully that there will be a park like this park in my country too.
Ya, they are rare to be seen.
I guess they are also known as seals!, correct me if I am wrong.
No both are different. They look very similar. Sea lions have bigger flaps then the seals
Ok got it.
I think that should be the attitude when traveling. Give more importance to what you will see and know, than to the material things you can take with you, because the experiences and memories (apart from the photographs) have much more value.
And it is not a matter of being stingy and sleeping in any unpleasant place, but it is not necessary a 5 stars either, unless you have not lived the experience and want to do it, but with one time I think it can be crossed off the list.
True, I too believe in experiencing the place more then the comfort and the luxuries of the room. When I am on a tight budget then the hotel is the first thing I compromise on but not the places that I want to visit.
I can imagine how beautiful Hong Kong is. It is just like Lagos too. We've got so many tall buildings in Lagos. Beautiful ones!
It's a small country but very attractive and quite a few things to see and do
I wish I was there also, the sea lions are just so cute to watch. I'm glad you had fun visiting this park.
They are very cute and fun to watch
I can see that.
