Travel Diaries - A Day spent in Lucerne

Lucerne is a wonderful small little city known for its medieval architecture and by it's beauty of how it is surrounded between the snow clad swiss alps. Some time back I had made a post on the famous Chapel Bridge of Lucerne, well that's not the only thing to see in Lucerne, there are many other sights in Lucerne which will get your attention.

The Lucerne main station was in itself one attraction. This is one thing that I have seen all over in Europe the very fascinating main stations which look nothing less than a art gallery or a museum.

It was a cloudy day and it kept drizzling the whole morning while we were in the city. We had not carried any umbrella or a jacket so in emergency I had to buy an umbrella. It is now a souvenir for me :-). Stepping out of the station the first glimpse I had was of this post office. We can see here how architecture plays such a significant role in this city.

As we stroll through the city I get to see the famous swiss cow statue.

At the lake my hubby wanted to do a boat ride, but I was not very keep on it since the boat rides were getting an overdose for me

This Old Swiss House is a Restaurant. The restaurants has traditional settings and the menu is also very local. Very impressive building.

The one best thing I liked about Lucerne is this flower arrangements on streets. They looked so pretty and gave such a good show to the overall look of the place.

This particular street had all the watch boutiques. Some of the finest collections I could see here.

I had visited the Lion monument many years ago and it was my wish to visit it one more time and here I was.

I found the city a bit expensive, but then that's almost the whole of Swiss. Anyways I had no intention of shopping except for just a few souvenirs which were not heavy on my pocket and I already had my travel pass so I did not have to worry about travelling ticket fares. We spent around 5 to 6 hours in the city. It was a good time, though I am sure there would be many places to visit here but then we had to return back to Zurich for our evening return flight so had to keep it short. I can say Lucerne is a picture perfect city very charming and gives a warm feeling.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
