Its Shopping Time @Market Friday

avatar

With a few more days left in Mumbai city and loads of things to do, I need to complete as much as I can on a daily basis. Last evening was the shopping evening. Even after staying for 8 years out of Country, there are still many things that I only prefer Indian. There are many things that I use which I only buy from India. The good part is that I visit once a quarter so I can manage to take my things from here.

I do not like to change my body and hair care products and experiment new products, which I have been using of a particular brand since years. I do not wish to make any changes with that. These are some of the best organic brands and price wise also much better than what I would pay for a similar product in Muscat. It's better for me to take it from here, and since being their member for a long time, I also enjoy some special benefits so it's better for me to keep building it with them.

The shops that I had to visit are in one of the largest city malls, which I have shared before as well. The light decor has not changed in the last 6 months. During Diwali time when I visited here, I thought the decor was special for the occasion, but this time also it was the same, guess they are going to keep it for a long time.

The inside decor has had some changes. They did not have these long danglers before. They look attractive, giving a good show to the place.

This is one of the fanciest malls in the city and has some of the exclusive brands available here. Anyways I did not move around much, as I was focused on going to my shop, get my things and move out.

This is the shop that I buy my products from

Purchased my Shampoo, Hair Mask and Face gel. Their products are very good, chemical free, organic and suit me best. The price is on the higher side, but then I feel it's worth it considering so much chemicals are found these days in every product that we use. And after all, health matters to me more than money.

After buying my products, I took a glance at the other products as well if anything interesting to buy.

This is a anti-ageing face serum. Works very well. It is expensive for the size of the bottle, but one bottle can last up to 6 to 7 mths. In my last visit I had purchased and it's still going on, so this time I did not buy it.

After finishing from here, I had to go to another shop and that's on the opposite side of this Mall, another Mall. Between the 2 malls is an open area where events and promotions keep taking place. Yesterday there was some musical event organized by one of the Bank.

Here comes my second shop FabIndia

Their soaps are good, which I have been buying since many years now.

Their products are comparatively much cheaper than the Forest Essential ones, some of them I buy from here as well to balance out, like the body lotion.

They have gift hampers also available. They are good gifting options and very much in budget.

This particular store along with beauty products also sell Indian garments and accessories

Hello @nainaztengra, it's such a good time you are having in your homeland. Mumbai has a lot of beautiful places and I'm hoping to visit. Thanks for sharing with us

You should, but my suggestion is plan it after 2 years or so, because right now the whole of mumbai is dug up for the coastal road and metro projects and it is too messy.

Seems like you have well stocked :D Nice #MarketFriday blog. I always feel overwhelmed by the variety of choices out there just for one product.

Their choices are luring and it is so hard to control, but I go with my blinders and just pick up the things that I need and out...hehee

I moved away from the area I grew up many years ago and used to go back for haircuts and all the essential products for 15 years... Well. maybe I have my sister mail some to me now. 😁 It is so hard to let go of a product that works. Don't fix what isn't broken!

What a beautiful place Mumbai is! I have never been there, so for me, it is interesting to see what it is like. Thank you for giving me a peek into a small piece of it. The way the lights decorate the outside and the lights and chandeliers inside, it is a stunning place! Obviously, upscale!

So many times they come up with new ones and I just like to stick with what I know. Thank you so much for showing off a culture that is so very foreign to me!

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world. Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday

Thank you @dswigle for your thoughtful comment.
I am so hooked to the things that I have been using over the years, that I do not even want to try out new. That's bad because I know in the bargain I may be losing out on something really good. As you say, the place we grow up in is the most attached one to us, and that's just the case with me.
Have a good day!
