Diwali is just around the corner; it is on the 12th and now wherever you go in the city you will see fascinating decorations and lights which bring cheer of the festival. I had some work at the Mall so I had been there a couple of days back and I was amazed by the lightings this year. Every year it keeps getting better and sparkier. It must be a lot of planning and work to do something as magnificent as this.

When I was in my school days, during this time me and my friends would venture out in the city just to see the lights. It was like a festival activity. The lights then were simple and nothing much fancy, they just used to be strings of colorful lights and we enjoyed watching them.

This year at the mall, the outside lightings are extravagant and so is the inside decor. They have made a Tree with Diyas ( lights). It is a simple design but gives a very grand look. I have been in awe of the designer to think something so elegant and it represents the festival so well.

That's the outside of the Mall. You will see how attractive it is.

The clock is not working, it is just for show

At the entrance the garden area is covered up with golden lights. It gives that special festival feeling.

These butterflies in the garden area, I find them very cute. There is a lot of detailing, you need to look around to capture everything.

Inside the mall as I mentioned, the decoration was simple but it is the best one that I have seen till date. This center piece Tree stole everyone's heart. On the Tree there are hanging lanterns and lights which gives all the show and makes it a master piece.

After completing our work, we were hungry and thought of grabbing up on some food in this place only. Settling down at one of the restaurants, I ordered for this mixed grill. It reminded me of the Arabic platters that we get back in Muscat, where there is hummus and garlic dips.

It was a nice evening spent here in the midst of all the lights and glitter.
