A day in the snow
While in Istanbul, one of the mornings we had a day excursion up to the mountains where there is snow. As I mentioned earlier also, snow is always a fascination for us, because where I come from the temperature is soaring. The journey up was long but then on the way we had multiple stops, like I already mentioned about the 650 years old tree that we sighted and the ferry ride giving us the views of the Izmit gulf.
The mountain that we visited is called the Uludag Olimpos Mountain. By the time we reached up it was almost 2 p.m., we still had good time at hand to spend in this place. The day we visited this place; a very sad incident had occurred. One of the finest hotels on the top had caught fire, and there were some death and casualties. Our tour guide told us that one of their best skiers was in the hotel that night and he and his son died in the fire. It happened at midnight while they were sleeping so the reaction time was less and the help also must have come in late. Up on the Mountain I am sure the help would have also taken a long time to come. We saw the hotel in the passing and it was totally black, all burned down. It was a scarry sight, and because it was fresh we could see some fumes still coming from the building. A lot of wood is used in building houses on the mountain and that also is one reason why the fire must have spread out so fast.
A very sad thing. People of the village were mourning and because of that most of the things in the place were shut down, which we could totally understand. When you see such things, you really feel, that life can become so unpredictable and you never know when it will slip out of your hand. Anyways we moved ahead and continued with our journey and reached our final destination.
We had loads of fun throwing snow at each other, though there was not a lot of snow, only in this area there was but then the surroundings were ok.
Some of the views of the area
We are posing like as if we are eating snow....haha. My last snow visit prior to this one was to Matterhorn and I have so many funny pictures in that place, with all different poses...hehe.
I cannot do this alone, so I tagged along with hubby.
There was a chair lift ride also and we wanted to do that, but it was closed for that day because of the weather. It's one thing we missed but then we had a lot of fun doing other things so it was ok. Anything we miss doing on holidays always feels disappointing but in some places you cannot do anything about it.
We spend around 2 hours here and then started our descend down again which was by cable car, and I will share that story in my next blog.
Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸

I am sure some day you will be able to
Oh what a tree of fifty years old you see sometimes is good to move round the world and see things yourself just like you have done with hubby not hear say hahaha this is lovely 🥰♥️
Absolutely, it is an amazing experience to see things in real
A joyful moment indeed to go round the world 👍
Such a sad incident, rip to the deceased 😔.
I have never experienced snow, it would really be a beautiful and memorable experience if I ever get to experience it.
I love how adventurous you are 🥰
Thank you, it is a nice experience being in the snow. Though I am not a fan of very cold places but I do enjoy spending time in snow some times
That's cool 😎
Just looking like a wow.Just a family union
Thank you
Life is indeed so unpredictable, the unexpected can always happen.
The snowy landscape is quite the contrast with the almost summer atmosphere over here, like a totally different world. The eating snow pose looks really lovely :)
True, right now the temperature here in Muscat is already 40 degrees in April, I wonder what June and July would be like :-(
I hope it doesn't climb beyond 45 degrees, that will be really hard on the body, unless one decides to stay indoors throughout that period.
We are just month away from that :-(
My first time snow experience was only in my late 20s when I first time travelled to Switzerland and visited Jungfrauach. I was so excited and it all looked so magical.
Thank you
The place looks beautiful, I feel for the people who lost their lives in the hotel
That was a very sad incident :-(
This is a very beautiful sight in which we can do anything with snow and some moments in life are always special. Enjoy your trip
