The first restoration of my house/Перше відновлення мого будинку (En/Ua)

Hello everyone, this is my first time describing my impressions of a repair done by two repairmen, I managed the whole process and my mother sponsored it all. To be honest, I felt like a real employer. I had two hired workers, we previously agreed on the scope of work, wages and the amount of materials needed for this work. I ordered all materials with delivery to my house in the village.

Привіт усім, я вперше описуючи свої враження від ремонту, який зробили двоє виправних майстрів, я керувала всім процесом, а моя мама була спонсором цього всього. Якщо чесно я себе відчувала справжнім працедавців. В мене було двоє найманих робітників, попередньо ми зними узгодили об'єм роботи, оплату праці і кількість матеріалів, яка потрібна для здійснення цієї роботи. Усі матеріали я замовляла з доставкою до мого будинку в селі.

And here is a photo before the repair. When I returned to Ukraine with my son, we visited the village again and again. And I understood that this cannot continue. The stairs in the house were completely destroyed. Maksym touched and even fell several times. I like to spend time in rural silence. There is a lot of work and a lot of spiritual rest. My roots seem to grow in this area.

А ось це фото до ремонту. Коли я повернулася в Україну з сином, то ми знову і знову приїзджали в село. І я розуміла, що так далі не може продовжуватися. Сходи в будинку зовсім знищилися. Максим кілька розів зачіпав і навіть впав. Мені подобається проводити час в сільській тиші. Тут багато роботи і багато духовного відпочинку. В цій місцевості наче росте моє коріння.

When my workers set up scaffolding near my house, and trucks delivered construction materials, people in the village began to wonder what was happening in Zakrevska's house. Probably only a lazy person didn't ask me what I was building there. I understand that people in rural areas spend their whole lives trying to move from the village to the city. In the city and in truth, there are more opportunities for education, work and earnings. Instead, I want to tell you that many wealthy young people are buying houses on farms under the forest in my region. They restore houses, work remotely on a computer. I guess I hold the same view that you need to have such a place for yourself in order to gain spiritual strength. For me, this is my late grandmother's house.

Коли мої робітники поставили риштування біля мого будинку, а грузові машини постачали будівельні матеріали, то люди в селі почали цікавитися, що ж це відбувається в будинку Закревської. Напевно лише лінивий мене не спитав, що ж я там таке будую. Я розумію, що люди в сільській місцевості все життя намагаються виїхати з села до міста. В місті і правді більше можливостей по освіті, праці і заробітку. Натомість хочу вам розповісти, що багато заможних молодих людей купляють будинки на хуторах під лісом в моєму регіоні. Вони відновлюють будинки, працюють віддалено на комп'ютері. Мабуть я притримуюся такого ж погляду, що треба мати для себе таке місце, щоб набиратися духовної сили. Для мене це є будинок моєї покійної бабусі.

As it turned out later, the house needs to be restored from the roof. The men I hired looked at the roof and siding of my house. I had to buy a drainage system for different reasons. Rainwater poured on the windows, walls, foundation of my house and it could destroy it. Also, it was rain, snow, and frost that destroyed the stairs leading to the entrance to the house.

Як виявилося потім, що в будиноку потрібно розпочинати відновлення з даху. Чоловіки, яких я найняла розглянули дах і накриття мого будинку. Мені по різному було купити водостічну систему. Дощова вода лилася на вікна, стіни, фундамент мого будинку і це могло зруйнувати його. Також саме від дощу, снігу, морозу і зруйнувалися сходи, які вели до входу в будинок.

We waited a long time for a truck with sand. It turns out that the woman who took my order mixed up my phone number. But everything turned out in the end, and we waited for sand and rubble. Maxim was very happy with the sand, because he likes to play with this material. He imagined that it was a big sandbox and that if there was any sand left, he would definitely use it to build castles, garages, and whatever else he wanted.

Ми довго виглядали грузову машину з піском. Виявляється жінка, яка приймала моє замовлення переплутали мій номер телефону. Але все зрештою вияснилося і пісок, і щебінь ми дочекалися. Максим дуже тішився саме пісочку, бо він любить бавитися з цим матеріалом. Він уявляв, що це велика пісочниця і що якщо залишиться пісок, то він неодмінно буде ним будувати замки, гаражі і все що захоче.

I could not even think that so much was needed to get a result. We ordered 1 ton of wood, 5 tons of sand, 2 tons of crushed stone, 10 bags of cement, metal fittings, two metal poles 4 meters long, 500 liters of water.

Я навіть подумати не могла, що стільки всього потрібно для того щоб отримати результат. Ми замовили 1 тонну дерева, 5 тонн піску, 2 тонни щебіню, 10 мішків цементу, металевої арматури, два металеві стовпи довжиною 4 метри, 500 літрів води.

My workers needed a lot of water to build the stairs. I ordered a barrel of water, which was brought from the water tower in our village. And it was quite profitable, because I wanted to go to the city and not interfere with the worker's work. They told me that when I arrive I will not recognize this place. I decided that I will accept everything as it is, because all hopes and inventions lead to disappointment. And when I soberly perceive any result, I get positive emotions

І на останок для
створення сходів моїм робітникам потрібно було багато води. Я замовила бочку води, яку привезли з водонапірний башти в нашому селі. І це було досить вигідно, тому що я хотіла поїхати до міста і не заважати робітника працювати. Вони мені сказали, що коли я приїду до не впізнаю. Я вирішила, що буду сприймати все так як є, тому що усі сподівання, придумування ведуть до розчарування. А коли я тверезо сприймаю будь-який результат, то отримую позитивні емоції.

The first milestone has been met. The workers dismantled part of the roof and made a covering over the future stairs. It was designed to protect the stairs from the weather and to be able to spend time outdoors in the rain as well.

Перший проміжковий результат було виконано. Робітники розібрали частину даху і зробили накриття над майбутніми сходами. Це було задумано для того, щоб захистити сходи від погодніх умов, і щоб можна було в дощ також проводити час на свіжому повітрі.

In Lviv, I received a message that the stairs are ready. My workers performed quickly and efficiently, their work is expensive financially, but I am sure that this cost is worth it, because the queue for workers is several months ahead.
I really hope that my new staircase will last much longer than the previous one, which lasted 40 years. Also, my workers made slopes near all the windows. It added comfort and reliability

У Львові я отримала повідомлення, що сходи готові. Мої робітники виконували швидко і якісно, їхня праця є дорогою фінансово, але я впевнена, що ця вартість того варту, бо черга на робітників стоїть на кілька місяців вперед.
Я дуже сподіваюся, що мої нові сходи простояла набагато довше за попередні, які простояли 40 років. Також мої робітники виконали відкоси біля усіх вікон. Це додавало затишку і надійності.

Maxim is very happy about everything new. He is now at such an age that he notices small details and he really likes everything new and beautiful.

Максим дуже тішиться всьому новому. В нього зараз такий вік, що він зауважує дрібні деталі і йому дуже подобається все нове і красиве.

This place has become my favorite. I will drink coffee here in the morning and write my posts in the evening. I still have a lot to repair and modernize in my house. But this is a small beginning of something really valuable in my life. Having your own home, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, is a great happiness. This is how we dreamed of sitting on the porch of our house with my mother. This is how one woman, who raises a son, grows apples for apple cider vinegar, is now restoring our ancestral nest.

So, I still have time to finish the street work before winter and hope to continue the interior renovation of my house next year.

Це місце стало моїм улюбленим. Я буду зранку тут пити каву, а вечором писати свої дописи. Мені ще багато потрібно буде відремонтувати і переобладнати. Але це маленький початок чогось дійсно вартісного в моєму житті. Мати власний будинок, далеко від міської суєти це велике щастя. Саме так ми мріяли з моєю мамою сидіти на ґанку нашого будинку. Ось так одна жінка, яка виховує сина, вирощує яблука для яблучного оцту зараз відновлює наше родове гніздо.
