Christmas is getting closer and closer in Bolívar Square in Maracay.

As I mentioned in my previous post, I started a kind of Christmas light hunt through the places that belong to my surroundings or the region where I live. This time, you will see images of the Christmas decorations in Plaza Bolívar in Maracay, Aragua state. A place that is traditionally filled with lights at this time of year, and this year was no exception. I took these photos on the day the lights were inaugurated, or the day the lights were turned on in Plaza Bolívar. That day, many people from the city gathered to witness the lighting and also because there would be a stage with live music. We arrived late at night, practically at midnight, and it seemed like it was still early, as there were many people walking around the plaza.

I must say that, in previous Christmases, the lights were probably more impressive or there was greater creativity when decorating the spaces. However, what they did this time is also quite acceptable. Personally, I found it a little minimalist, but I think it did the job. One of the things about Christmas is that it allows several people to gather in one place to walk, exchange ideas, clear their minds, and have a good time with their families, and that is what I mostly take away from this visit to Plaza Bolívar.

As I mentioned, there was a live music show, which we were able to enjoy near the end, but it was about 30 minutes during which we were able to see a salsa band doing an excellent job. The sound was perfect, each instrument was very easy to hear, and we enjoyed it immensely. On this occasion, I was with my wife, my brother-in-law, and my brother-in-law's wife. We had a great time, walking around every corner, taking some photos, sharing, enjoying ourselves, and I think that is precisely the essence of Christmas and these spaces.

So, you were able to see images of how Plaza Bolívar in the city of Maracay, where I live, is decorated. I would also like to see how the streets or landmarks in your city are decorated, so I encourage you to capture the moment and share it with the community if you happen to be in those areas. I will soon be traveling to another city and, just as I did with this post, I will be hunting for Christmas lights, especially at night, which is when they can be best appreciated, to share them with this prestigious community so that you can see how Christmas is celebrated in this part of the world. It was a pleasure to share. See you soon!

Such a lovely Christmas vibe @musicandreview even if the lights were more minimalist this year nothing beats gathering with family, walking the plaza and enjoying that salsa band at midnight. Can't wait to see the Christmas lights from the next city you visit..

Compared to the square in my neighborhood, this one is really decorated haha Here they don't even bother to put up Christmas lights anymore, my neighborhood is very neglected, but it's great that other countries continue to maintain that excitement and magic of filling public spaces with Christmas lights 😍 This decoration is very beautiful! ❤️

It’s the same here in the Philippines. During the Christmas season, the plaza is usually packed with people, especially during the Christmas lighting ceremony, and there are also live bands. It’s really enjoyable.
