My Visit to the Orphanage

When i was a child, i really loved playing with my fellow children. Growing up, my love for children grew. I loved children around me that i even had to apply to teach in the children's department in my church. So one day i had an idea to be visiting orphans bi-monthly (these are people that are either fatherless, motherless or orphans). I brought this idea to my team and friends and they were so happy.

So we began this journey together last year which has been a blessing to my life. My last visit was an emotional one. These kids really need love and care. Some of the orphanages here in Nigeria are poorly developed, their feeding system is poor and lack of caregivers to really take good care of these kids. Some of these kids are tender, some of them are young, some of them grow into adolescent.

My last visit was in my home town here in Nigeria. It was indeed an emotional one. I and my team got to the market to get provisions, clothes, shoes and foodstuff for the kids we were going to visit. We do love going to different orphanages, like we don't go to the same orphanage two times. So this orphanage we went to , we haven't been there before.

On reaching there, when the kids saw us they were leaping for joy and were full of smiles, i and my team were so happy. Their caretakers took them down to their visiting hall and they waited for us there. We took out the things we bought for them from the bus we boarded and carried it down to the visiting hall.

They sang a welcome song for us with their sweet voices and i looked at them and rears ran down my eye. We presented what we brought to their founder and i and my team introduced ourselves which in turn they did to. We took cool photos, sang, played and danced with them. When it was was time to say goodbye, i felt emotional, i just felt i could stay back with them till noon but that wasn't possible because they had visiting hours.
They hugged us and we bid them goodbye. It was really a long day but it was worth spending it with them.

We can sometimes, at least once in a while take a stroll down to the orphanage near you or in your hometown to visit those little kids, they also deserve care and love.

Thanks for reading...

This is lovely, but not really related to home education. I'm not entirely sure which community to recommend for it, however. Perhaps a more general one.
