Waking up early and surviving: Saturday chronicles. / Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

My grandmother used to say: "He who wakes up early, God helps him," and she was certainly not wrong. Practice confirms it for me. I like to go out early, that way my creativity is at its best. Then I focus on exploring, observing, and interpreting everything that I find interesting. That’s the idea behind what I’m sharing with you today—they are the result of my latest outing, which, by the way, I enjoyed a lot. I’ll be telling you more soon...

What caught my attention the most was how focused the boy was on what was happening in that place. Several primary school children were having an outdoor class, but none of them were paying attention—except for this boy, who, by the way, wasn’t part of their group.

If there's one thing you'll find in the most touristy areas of Havana, it's street musicians—they appear when you least expect it.

These bird species have adapted remarkably well to city life. They eat practically anything and are quite bold—in some outdoor cafes, they even hop onto the table with the customer, trying to steal food.

If there's one thing the oldest part of the city is known for, it's the colonial houses with their wrought-iron grilles and ancient objects dating back over 200 years.

For many years, mannequins disappeared from the city's stores. Today, they've made a comeback, and, as with everything in Cuba that happens in stages, we now see them almost everywhere and in all sorts of colors.

I would dare to say it's one of the most photographed spots because of the shadows it creates at certain times of the day. It's simply brilliant—a testament to the tasteful construction from many years ago. We owe that to the Spanish colonial era on the island.

And what can be said about the classic cars? True gems, even if they sometimes carry a boat engine under the hood. Regardless, they are absolutely beautiful.

Conclusions

In the end, I’m always satisfied, even before stepping out to take photos, because given the city’s conditions, I’m convinced I’ll find interesting scenes. Between the risk of being mugged for your camera in a tough neighborhood and the thrill of witnessing something unique, the day just flies by. Like me, last Saturday—it was 8 p.m., and I hadn’t even made it home. Around every corner, there was something I loved.

Mi abuela solía decir: "A quien madruga, Dios lo ayuda", y ciertamente no se equivocaba. La práctica me lo confirma. Me gusta salir temprano, así mi creatividad está en su mejor momento. Luego me concentro en explorar, observar e interpretar todo lo que encuentro interesante. Esa es la idea detrás de lo que comparto hoy: son el resultado de mi última salida, que, por cierto, disfruté mucho. Les contaré más muy pronto...

Me llamó mucho la atención la atención que tenía el niño a lo que sucedía en aquel lugar, varios niños de escuela primaria daban una clase al aire libre, pero ninguno prestaba atención, solamente este que por cierto no venía con ellos.

Estas especies de aves se han adaptado muy bien a la vida en la ciudad, comen prácticamente cualquier cosa y son bastante confiadas, en algunas cafeterías al aire libre hasta están en la mesa con el cliente tratando de robar de tu comida.

Si algo hay en la zona más antigua de la ciudad son las casas coloniales, con sus rejas o antiguos objetos con más de 200 años.

Por muchos años en la ciudad desaparecieron los maniquíes de las tiendas, hoy, han vuelto a aparecer, y como todo en Cuba que es por etapas los vemos en casi todos los lugares y de todos los colores.

Me atrevería a decir que es uno de los sitios más fotografiados por las sobras que hace en determinadas horas del día, es sencillamente genial, de cuando se construía con buen gusto hace muchísimos años, eso se lo debemos a los años de colonia española en la isla.

Y que decir se los autos clásicos, verdaderas joyas, aunque en su interior lleven un motor de barco. De todas formas son hermosos.

Al final siempre estoy satisfecho, aun antes de salir a la calle para hacer fotos, porque dadas las condiciones de la ciudad estoy convencido de que encontraré escenas interesantes. Entre el peligro de que te asalten para robar tu cámara por estar en algún barrio complicado y la emoción de ver algo único, se te va el día, como a mí, que el sábado eran las 8 de la noche y no había llegado a casa, en cada esquina había algo que me encantaba. Entonces, queridos, me retiro, no sin antes agradecerles por su atención y su tiempo. Estaré feliz de leer sus comentarios y nos vemos próximamente, hasta luego.
