Greetings, friends.

I'm really used to seeing curious situations when I walk around the city. It's normal, especially now that there are more tourists, but yesterday I saw something surprising. Let me tell you about it: I was with my friend @melmily249 near the Malecón, waiting to photograph the waves as they broke against the wall, when we saw this Chinese man, apparently making what looked like some kind of promise and walking a sacred path, perhaps extreme meditation. What was he doing? He walked three steps and then prostrated himself, literally covering more than two kilometers.

It seemed like some kind of Buddhist religious ritual, or perhaps something more personal, but in any case, it caught the attention of everyone passing by.

Every time the wave crashed against the wall, the Chinese man was soaked, but far from diminishing his strength, he gained more courage on his spiritual journey.

The Cuban, always curious, watching from a distance, from the other sidewalk, sometimes someone would pass by and shout at him: ask for Cuba.

One of the moments when the Chinese man almost drowned in a wave.

I wanted to take photos from various angles so you could see how people even stopped what they were doing to look at the Chinese man.

Later I learned that it was most likely a Buddhist ritual of gratitude or asking for forgiveness.

It's amazing how that scene made everyone who watched it think.

I don't know where that man ended his pilgrimage. We followed him for quite a while. I hope his prayers are answered because the sacrifice he made was enormous, believe me.

Saludos amigos

Realmente estoy acostumbrado a ver situaciones curiosas cuando camino por la ciudad, es normal y más ahora que el turismo es un tanto más numeroso, pero ayer vi algo sorprendente. Les cuento: iba con mi amiga @melmily249 cerca del Malecón esperando fotografiar las olas cuando rompían con el muro y vimos a este señor chino, al parecer, haciendo lo que pareciera una especie de promesa y camino sagrado, tal vez meditación extrema, ¿qué hacía? Caminaba 3 pasos y se postraba, así llegó a recorrer más de 2 km literalmente.

Parecía algún tipo de ritual religioso budista, o quizás algo ya más personal, el caso fue que llamó la atención a todos los que iban pasando por allí.

Cada vez que la ola rompía con el muro, el chino quedaba empapado, y lejos de aminorar sus fuerzas, agarraba más ánimo en su recorrido espiritual.

El cubano, siempre curioso, observando a la distancia, desde la otra acera, a veces alguien pasaba y le gritaba: pide por Cuba.

Uno de los instantes en que el chino casi se ahoga con una ola.

Quise tomar las fotos desde varias perspectivas para que vieran cómo las personas hasta dejaban lo que estaban haciendo para ver al chino.

Después supe que lo más probable era un ritual budista de agradecimiento o pidiendo perdón.

Increíble cómo aquella escena puso a pensar a todos los que la observaban.

No sé dónde aquel señor habrá terminado su peregrinación, lo estuvimos siguiendo por un buen rato, ojalá y se le concedan sus peticiones porque el sacrificio que hizo fue descomunal, créanme.
