The Life That Dwells in Silence. / Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

These snapshots 📸 are my submission for the #monomad challenge by @monochromes and @brumest.

I remember my history professor at university, who always said that it was impossible to properly explore the Colón Cemetery in a single day. And believe me, I've tried, but there's always something that compels me to return and contemplate the place at my leisure. A few days ago, I paid another visit and took some photos to share with you. This time, I had an unexpected guest who seems to have taken over the place: some birds that have made the cemetery their home. And I couldn't be happier... here they are.

This won't be the last visit; every so often, I'll show you what I discover in this mysterious place. That's all for today, my friends. I'd love to know which one was your favorite. I'll read your comments.

Recuerdo a mi profesor de historia en la universidad, que siempre decía que el Cementerio de Colón era imposible de recorrer como se debe en un solo día. Y mira que lo he intentado, pero siempre hay algo que me obliga a regresar y contemplar el lugar con calma. Hace unos días le hice otra visita y me quedaron algunas fotos por compartirles. Esta vez, con un invitado inesperado que parece haberse adueñado del lugar: unas aves que han convertido el camposanto en su hábitat. Y yo, más feliz no puedo estar… aquí se las dejo.

Esta no será la última visita; cada tanto les iré mostrando lo que vaya descubriendo en este lugar tan misterioso. Por ahora es todo por hoy, mis amigos. Me encantaría saber ¿De todas, cuál fue su favorita? Los leo en los comentarios. ¡Hasta pronto!

Los cementerios tienen una belleza plástica especial. Puede parecer tétrico visitarlos para hacer fotografías, pero ejemplos como los que nos traes aquí son muestra evidente de que esa hermosura está presente. Quizás sea por ser ese lugar temido que habitaremos y que no podemos evitar, pero si ese pajarillo lo ha transformado en su hogar es que allí no estaremos mal. En cuanto a tu pregunta final, me debato entre la imagen de la portada, me impresiona el ave como haciendo guardia protegiendo el crucifijo. Mi otra opción sería la segunda, me evoca el contraste entre la vida que despega en cualquier momento y la melancolía de lo que se ha ido. Un trabajo precioso, gracias.

Cemeteries have a special aesthetic beauty. It may seem morbid to visit them to take photographs, but examples such as the ones you have provided here are clear evidence that this beauty is present. Perhaps it is because it is a feared place that we will inhabit and cannot avoid, but if that little bird has made it its home, then we will not be so bad off there. As for your final question, I am torn between the cover image, which strikes me as the bird standing guard over the crucifix, and the second image, which evokes the contrast between life taking off at any moment and the melancholy of what has gone. Beautiful work, thank you.

Muchas gracias por su comentario 😊, y coincido plenamente con lo que dices de los cementerios, de hecho lo visito regularmente porque me hace interiorizar mi presente y darme cuenta de cosas que debo cambiar en mi vida y como lo acompaño de la fotografía entonces los resultados son magníficos, este en especial es como un museo a cielo abierto, siempre es una aventura recorrerlo.
