Street photos and history lessons [Eng/Esp]

Greetings, friends.

There are days when you're at home and your body just wants to grab the camera and go out, and honestly, if your body wants it, you have to obey. Just thinking that I could be taking a photo that would make my day, my mind won't stop thinking about it. Luckily, I had planned a few days earlier to participate in the Rutas y Andares program organized by the Office of the Historian of Havana, which on this occasion was going to visit the Colón Cemetery. Although it's a place I visit very often, I wasn't going to miss the opportunity to do so with specialists in the field of history. I quickly sent a message to my friend @rg2-foto, and he also joined the adventure.

My purpose was not so much photography as it was to learn more about the impressive history of the place.
That doesn't mean I didn't take photos every few minutes; the place is truly impressive. No matter how many times you visit, it always surprises you.

The sun was scorching, and I forgot to bring sunscreen. Luckily, I got a hat, because I would have literally melted. So, you know, if you ever visit, take precautions against the heat.

This photograph was taken from inside the chapel located in the center of the cemetery.

Later at home, looking through the photos, I notice that this boy has green hair and is playing with the background of the plants, pure coincidence.

We were there for a little over two hours. Personally, I would have liked to explore the place more, but I had other commitments that I couldn't put off. Anyway, I left satisfied with the pictures I took, and today I am pleased to share them with you.

Saludos amigos

Hay días donde uno está en casa y el cuerpo lo único que le pide es agarrar la cámara y salir a la calle, y sinceramente, si el cuerpo lo pide, hay que obedecer, nada más de pensar que pudiera estar haciendo la foto que me alegre el día, la cabeza no para de pensar. Menos mal que había planificado días atrás participar del programa Rutas y Andares de la oficina del Historiador de La Habana que en esta ocasión iba a recorrer el Cementerio de Colón, y aunque es un sitio que suelo visitar con mucha frecuencia no me iba a perder la oportunidad de hacerlo con especialistas en el tema histórico. Rápido le envié un mensaje a mi amigo @rg2-foto y también se sumó a la aventura.

Mi propósito no era tanto la fotografía, sino conocer más de la impresionante historia del lugar.
Eso no quita que cada rato hiciera una foto, realmente el lugar es impresionante. No importa cuántas veces lo visites, siempre te sorprende.

El sol abrasador, yo olvidé llevar protector solar, menos mal conseguí un sombrero porque me hubiera derretido literalmente, así que ya saben, si en alguna ocasión lo visitan, tomen sus precauciones contra el calor.

Esta fotografía es desde dentro de la capilla que se encuentra en el centro del cementerio.

Después en casa, revisando las fotos, me percato que este muchacho tiene el pelo verde y juega con el fondo de las plantas, pura coincidencia.

Allí estuvimos algo más de 2 horas, en lo personal hubiese querido recorrer más el lugar, pero tenía otros compromisos que no podía postergar, pero en fin salí satisfecho con las imágenes que tomé y hoy me complace compartir con ustedes.
