Street and Animal Photos./ Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

Dawn is breaking in Havana, and I’m getting ready to head out. I move slowly and quietly so as not to wake my sister and nephews, but it was all for nothing; Wisin sensed me right away and came running with me to have coffee on the rooftop.

Amanece en La Habana y me preparo para salir a la calle. Me muevo lento y en silencio para no despertar a mi hermana y sobrinos, pero fue por gusto; enseguida Wisin me sintió y de un tirón vino conmigo a tomar el café en la azotea.

After a few minutes soaking up the positive energy of the atmosphere—the temperature was perfect—I got my camera and some water ready. Everything was set. But… “Why don’t you take a picture of my pets, uncle, before you go?” she asks me. Well, okay. Here we go.

Después de varios minutos absorbiendo la buena energía del ambiente porque había una temperatura ideal, preparé la cámara y agua. Todo listo. Pero... ¿Por qué no le haces una foto a mis animales, tío, antes de irte? Me dice. Bueno, ok. Allá vamos.

Her name is Kiara, but don’t let that noble face fool you—the moment the first dog walks by on the street, she turns into a wild beast.

Ella se llama Kiara, pero no se dejen engañar con esa cara de nobleza porque, al primer perro que pasa por la calle, se vuelve una fiera.

And apparently, today is the day for photographing animals; he looks at me as if demanding his photo.

Y al parecer es el día de fotografiar animales; él me mira como exigiendo su foto.
