Life in the forest: dragonflies, damselflies, and a happy photographer. / Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]
Hello friends, how's everything going?
I'll confess something that happens to me regularly: there are times when I want to be alone, far from any trace of humanity, civilization, far from everything. When that happens, I grab my camera and head for the mountains, the further away the better, and spend a few hours walking by myself. And of course, taking pictures of whatever animals, insects, and plants I come across. This time I traveled about 60 km from home to one of the most beautiful regions in my province. It's called Sierra del Rosario, full of rivers and waterfalls, but my attention was focused on the dragonflies.
These snapshots 📸 are my submission for the #monomad challenge by @monochromes and @brumest.
These are damselflies, and they are endemic to the island. You can't imagine how difficult it is to find them and then take a photo of them. They are very small and blend in so well with their surroundings that it makes everything more difficult.
I learned from a good friend who specializes in the study of dragonflies that they always return to land on the same branch, but at the same time there are some that spend hours and hours without landing. Imagine that...
Almost back in civilization, I found this little lizard, one of my favorites, called a caiman lizard. They are always found in areas where there is water and are expert swimmers. It was impossible not to take the time to take a photo of it.
I finally found a small hamlet. After hours of wandering through the forest, I suddenly saw some children playing outside their house. Those kids were startled when they saw me coming out of the forest with my backpack, camera, and covered in mud, 😂.
So, friends, that's all for today. I hope you liked the photos, and if you have any comments, I'd be very happy to read them. Take care, and see you soon with more adventures.

Saludos
