Official entry for the #monomad challenge hosted by @monochromes and @brumest

“It’s just that nothing is the same anymore,” a man told me as he walked beside me down the street; I had barely left my sister’s house when I was already being set up for what would become my story of the day.

Everything seems the same, but at the same time it’s different, the friendly man continued, spouting phrases as if he were a philosopher; I confess that at first it threw me off a bit, but later I began to understand where he was coming from.

The fact is, the city is constantly changing; even if it doesn’t seem like it, there’s a migration of people from the interior of the country, others who are leaving, and even the buildings are transforming, albeit slowly.

We certainly had a great conversation, the man and I, while he watched me take photos—me focused on what would become this week’s series, and him perhaps just passing the time, as he’d later tell me: a very strange photographer.

And these were the results; it seems like more of the same—people, streets, houses—but at the same time, there are subtle changes, transformations that I’m gradually documenting with an eye toward the future.

So, I’ll sign off here, happy to have had your company and to have taken up your time. Take good care of yourselves, and we’ll be back soon with more street stories and some photos. Hugs.

Abrazos.

Nothing is ever the same; as the saying goes, you can’t step into the same river twice, because the water is always different. Time passes, people change, the surroundings and the buildings change; people walk in one direction or another, doing different things throughout the day, and time just keeps ticking by, that’s life, just like your excellent photographs. Brilliant photos of the streets and their people, of everyday life, of the comings and goings that make up life.

It’s a very good composition, accompanied by a thought-provoking discussion on the reality of things. Thank you very much, a big hug!🤗

I sincerely appreciate your comment. I try to bring my vision of the city to life and document all its transformations as a visual record. Comments like yours give me a lot of encouragement to continue my photographic work around the city. Hugs
