Identity at Stake. / Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]
Greetings, friends of Hive and the #blackandwhite community.
When I was studying at university, I had a psychology professor who said that young people had a big problem with their sense of national identity; they found it difficult to take an interest in elements that identified Cuban identity. Today, I think that problem is even stronger, and it's very noticeable when I walk around the city.
"Why are you taking pictures of the flag? Why the cars?" are some of the questions I am always asked. That is why, in this series, I want to address this social issue in a simple way. I hope you like it.
These snapshots 📸 are my submission for the #monomad challenge by @monochromes and @brumest.
Every day I am more convinced that photography is a powerful tool, and that is why I sometimes try to address these issues in my images. As always, I sincerely thank you for following me and appreciating my photographic work. I look forward to your comments.

Cuando estudiaba en la universidad, tenía un profesor de Psicología que decía que la juventud tenía un gran problema con el sentido de identidad nacional; les costaba interesarse por elementos identificativos de la cubanidad. Hoy creo que ese problema es más fuerte y se nota mucho cuando camino por la ciudad.
«¿Para qué le haces fotos a la bandera? ¿Por qué a los coches?» son algunas de las preguntas que siempre me hacen. Por eso, en esta serie quiero abordar esta problemática social de forma sencilla. Espero que les guste.
Cada día estoy más convencido de que la fotografía es una herramienta poderosa y, por eso, en mis imágenes intento abordar estos problemas en ocasiones. Como siempre, les agradezco sinceramente que me sigan y aprecien mi trabajo fotográfico. Estaré pendiente de sus comentarios.
