Hotspots./ Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

Greetings, dear friends. I wanted to title this post “Hotspots.” What do I mean by such a strange title? Well, the truth is that conditions are not always ideal for wandering around the city like an explorer; sometimes, for safety reasons, I have to limit myself to certain areas that are calmer and already proven to offer good photo opportunities.

Saludos, queridos amigos, he querido titular esta publicación "Puntos calientes". ¿A qué me refiero con un título tan raro? Sucede que no siempre las condiciones son propicias para estar de explorador por la ciudad; a veces hay que limitarse, por problemas de seguridad, a solamente ciertas zonas que son más tranquilas y que está comprobado que dan buenas fotos.

Over time, I’ve identified them: El Prado, the Avenue of the Port, and Havana’s Malecón. There may be another one I’m forgetting, but generally, those are the places where I focus most of my attention.

Ya con el tiempo las he localizado, y son El Prado, la avenida del puerto y el Malecón habanero. Puede que se me escape otra, pero por lo general en esas son las que me concentro.

I consider myself a good observer — maybe even a little paranoid, I would say — and my sister thinks the same, because whenever I feel the street has a different atmosphere, I take precautions. That’s why I call them hotspots.

Me considero buen observador, a veces algo paranoico, diría yo, y también mi hermana, porque cuando veo que la calle tiene un ambiente diferente, tomo mis precauciones, por eso los puntos calientes.

In the end, it doesn’t matter where I am; I will always be photographing everyday life in the city, its people, and their routines.

Al final no importa el lugar donde esté; siempre estaré fotografiando la cotidianidad en la ciudad, su gente y sus rutinas.
