Cuban Woman, Portraits/ Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

Cuban women are special. Beyond their beauty, they embody a wealth of knowledge that stems from the rich cultural heritage that defines us and from all the burdens they carry every day: home, work, children… That is why seeing their faces—every detail, their gazes, and their wrinkles—is an expression of that beauty.

La mujer cubana es especial. En ellas, además de su belleza, está todo un caudal de saberes que proviene de la rica herencia cultural que nos caracteriza y de toda la carga que llevan a diario: el hogar, el trabajo, los hijos... Por eso, ver sus rostros, cada detalle, sus miradas y las arrugas es todo expresión de esa belleza.

They embody African, European, and indigenous heritage—all in one—which is why they are worthy of admiration and truly one-of-a-kind. That’s why I wanted to honor them with these portraits, which I took after attending an event thanks to my friend @pachuli.
