G reetings, friends of #blackandwhite. Today I continue with the series about façades in Havana, at least in its oldest areas. This would be the second part.

| Over time, I’ve realized that going out to photograph the streets has expanded my imagination. It’s not just about looking and pressing the shutter… something else happens inside. | Con el tiempo me he dado cuenta de que salir a fotografiar la calle me ha ido ampliando la imaginación. No es solo mirar y disparar la cámara… hay algo más que pasa por dentro. |
| Whenever I come across a building like this, I almost always stop. I find a quiet place to sit and let my mind wander. | Cuando me encuentro con una edificación así, casi siempre hago un stop. Busco un lugar donde sentarme tranquilo y dejo que la mente se vaya sola. |
| The questions start coming: how old is this place?, who lived here?, how many stories are hidden within these walls? | Empiezan las preguntas: ¿cuántos años tendrá ese lugar?, ¿quiénes vivieron ahí?, ¿cuántas historias se habrán quedado entre esas paredes? |
| And without noticing, I begin to create a whole movie in my head. I imagine the place in its best days, people coming and going, the movement, the life around it. | Y sin darme cuenta, me armo toda una película en la cabeza. Me imagino el sitio en sus mejores tiempos, la gente entrando y saliendo, el movimiento, la vida alrededor. |

| That curiosity also pushes me to learn more. Sometimes I end up looking for information, checking history books or old photos someone shared. It’s like pulling a thread that never ends. And if there’s coffee being sold nearby… even better. I stay a bit longer, talk to people, ask questions, listen. There’s always someone with a story to tell. | Eso también me despierta la curiosidad. A veces termino buscando información, revisando libros de historia o fotos antiguas que alguien haya compartido. Es como seguir tirando del hilo. Y si por casualidad cerca venden café… mejor todavía. Ahí me quedo un rato más, converso, pregunto, escucho. Siempre aparece alguien que tiene algo que contar. |

| But at some point, I come back to reality. I step out of that idealized image and see things as they are today. And it hurts a little, because you realize it’s not just the passage of time. | Pero llega un momento en que vuelvo a la realidad. Salgo de esa imagen idealizada y veo las cosas tal como están hoy. Y duele un poco, porque uno entiende que no todo es solo el paso del tiempo. |
| And that’s how my day goes by, somewhere between imagination and reality. A mix of emotions. But in the end, I enjoy it… and knowing I can share it with you keeps me going. | Y así se me va el día, entre lo que imagino y lo que tengo delante. Un poco de todo. Pero al final, lo disfruto… y saber que luego puedo compartirlo con ustedes es lo que me da ganas de seguir. |

geniales, la 5ta foto me provoca una tristeza absoluta. el contraste entre los carteles de felicidad que nos quieren vender y la realidad es brutal, cruda, real.

There’s a certain beauty in the age of some buildings, even when they’re not in the best condition; I suppose it’s the beauty of telling the story of their years in a more precise way. Great photos, my friend!
