Brief Scenes from the Street. / Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

There are many times when I imagine I’m living in a movie as I wander the city streets, trying to capture all those scenes that catch my interest. Every now and then, I take a break for a cup of coffee and then continue on my way. Every image has a historical and cultural backdrop; these aren’t isolated events: from the simple headless mannequin with a price tag to the car with the traffic sign, everything has meaning, everything matters.

Son muchas las ocasiones en las que imagino que estoy viviendo una película mientras recorro las calles de la ciudad, intentando captar todas esas escenas que me resultan interesantes. De vez en cuando, descanso para tomar un café y sigo la marcha. Cada imagen tiene un trasfondo histórico y cultural; no son hechos aislados: desde el simple maniquí sin cabeza y con precio hasta el auto con la señal de tráfico, todo significa, todo importa.

That’s why street photography is so exciting: I can express myself freely—especially in my own context, where doing so can be a sensitive issue. For now, that’s all I wanted to share with you. As always, thank you for your company. I’ll be back tomorrow with more street photos. See you soon.
