A bird that dances while I wait / Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

Hello, friends, how are you doing?

Today I have to tell you something that happened to me last Saturday. I had been planning for days to visit a coastal area called El Chivo Beach to take pictures of birds, and taking advantage of my body's willingness to go, I decided to take a bus late in the afternoon, and in a few minutes I was near the sea. I know this place is very different from the ones I usually visit for my street photography, but it's one of the few places where I can relax doing what I'm truly passionate about: bird photography.

The place is on the eastern side of Havana Bay, so you can see the city in the distance. I was really hoping to find a lot of diversity, but nothing could be further from the truth. There was only one person trying to fish and, in the distance, a bird that we call a heron, which kept its distance. At that moment, I felt depressed because I couldn't see anything I could take a photo of.

The man who was trying to fish walked for a while on the sharp stones, and that gave me the opportunity, while waiting for a bird to arrive, to take a backlit photograph with the city in the background.

After a while, some fishermen passed by me and I applied the same technique.

Until suddenly, my wait paid off, and a pair of these herons landed in front of me. I understand that they are very common birds, but what was about to happen left me perplexed.

She began to move as if she were dancing, worthy of a stage performance, starting with a little warm-up and stretching.

Some neck movements to impress the audience. All done with style and elegance.

Take off gracefully and at a good pace.

She stayed there for a while, in the most incredible display of an expert dancer, and I was happy. I didn't expect to see something like that, I was about to pack up and go home, and finding this was a blessing. Finally, she landed as if to thank me for my attention and the photos, and then she left.

Somehow I had to tell you the story; it had been a long time since I had such a good time taking photos of the birds in that place. This is what I wanted to share with you. I hope you liked the photos and the story. See you soon.

Hola, amigos, ¿qué tal, cómo les va?

Hoy les tengo que contar algo que me sucedió el sábado pasado, como tenía planificado hace días visitar una zona de la costa llamada Playa El Chivo para hacer fotografías de aves y aprovechando la buena disposición de mi cuerpo que me empujaba a ir me decidí, agarré un autobús casi terminada la tarde y en pocos minutos yo estaba cerca del mar. Sé que es muy diferente este lugar al que habitualmente visito con mis fotos callejeras, pero es uno de los pocos donde puedo relajarme haciendo lo que verdaderamente me apasiona: la fotografía de aves.

El lugar está en la parte este de la bahía habanera por lo que a la distancia se puede observar la ciudad, la verdad esperaba encontrar una gran diversidad, nada más lejos de la realidad, en el sitio solo había una persona que intentaba pescar y al lo lejos un ave que aquí le llamamos Garza que se mantenía a la distancia, ya en ese instante me deprimí porque no veía que podría sacar alguna foto.

El señor que intentaba pescar caminó un rato sobre las afiladas piedras y aquello me sirvió para, mientras esperaba llegar algún ave, hacer una fotografía a contraluz con la ciudad de fondo.

Al rato unos pescadores me pasaron por delante y apliqué la misma técnica.

Hasta que de pronto la espera tuvo resultados, se posó delante de mí una pareja de estas garzas. Yo entiendo que son aves muy comunes, pero lo que estaba a punto de suceder me dejó perplejo.

Aquella comenzó a hacer unos movimientos como si estuviera bailando, que era digna de un escenario, primeramente un pequeño calentamiento y estiramiento.

Algunos movimientos de cuello para impresionar a los espectadores. Todo con mucho estilo y elegante.

Levantar el vuelo con gracia y a buen ritmo.

Así estuvo por algún rato, en la más increíble demostración de una bailarina experta, y yo feliz. No me esperaba ver algo así, ya casi estaba por recoger para regresar a casa y encontrarme esto fue una bendición. Para terminar, se posó como dándome las gracias por la atención y las fotos y se marchó.

De alguna manera tenía que contarles la historia, hacía mucho tiempo no la pasaba tan bien haciendo fotos a las aves de aquel lugar. Esto es lo que les quería compartir, espero que les hayan gustado las fotos y el relato. Nos vemos pronto.
