I just love the feeling when summer is coming. The sound, the smell, the wind and the scenery. When the wind blows creating sound that moves the leaves, I wonder how to explain; It’s just so amazing that it makes my heart jump like when I had my first love. Yes, for sure everyone agrees about how annoying the hotness of the sun can be from 10 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon. Nevertheless, it’s still wonderful to go outside despite the skin from burning.

It may be different from how it feels as an adult me now compared to the younger version of me before. The reasons and the plans are way different. Well, the younger me was always excited during summer because of many activities and of course it’s 2 months break from school. What I thought about when summer was coming was to play and play. There were times together with my deceased father we went to the sea for fishing and then to the mountain for farming. I had a frown when this happened, I didn’t want to miss playing with friends - you know kids. Lol

It’s funny when I think about yesterday,although it’s a little bit tormenting inside; I miss those days but I know it’s not possible to return. Everytime the wind slaps me comfortably I can't help but to remember the past. Mixed feelings when it happened but still it’s a good memory that I would never regret.

Yeah, summer is coming, after a long time spent outside because of my side income as a photographer; It’s draining me and I’m so excited that summer is coming. Two consecutive days that I will be busy next week and after that, hurray, it’s resting time. Oh I forgot, it’s beaching, mountaineering or maybe goofing around after, when I’ll have a free time watching over the store.

It will not be a resting time for me of course since there are obligations and responsibilities but I’ll make sure to quench every feeling I have about summer. I may go to the mountain to plant because that’s my plan from the beginning; I may have upcoming 3 events and sorry, there are more, there are pigs and our store. Obviously, it’s part of my life goals but I will not allow myself to stress out about it. All I will do is to enjoy those while enjoying the feeling of summer.

Paul was born in Macrohon, Southern Leyte but currently living in Cahayag, San Francisco Southern Leyte. He graduated the course of a BS Mar-E or Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering in 2019. Although writing is his passion so instead of sailing he decided on writing.
